I wonder how we are applying Scripture today?

I ask myself if people realy understand what they are quoting.

For example, PS 23.."Yea tho I walk through the valley of death, I fear no evil...your ROD and STAFF...."

Many of us today here plenty of preaching on the STAFF of goodness and propersity. But we do not here that God has to use His STAFF to prepare us for the gifts and blessing to come. Why do we all ways avoid the ROD message?

Well it is just me out here to wake up the thoughts in LOVE.

God Bless

You are right we don't hear about the ROD part of that message. How many can actually say they have gone through life without ever getting a scratch or a bruise, a burn or a cut, a twisted ankle or tired muscle? Without these physical stresses we don't learn. We don't get stronger. It is the ROD part that comforts. It may not be pleasent at the time, but makes us more prepared so its easier next time. Enjoy the ROD. Thank God for making you stronger with the ROD. Thank Him for preparing you for what is to come.

The rod is a very necessary part of a believer's life.  A loving parent disciplines (not punishes, but corrects) their child to ensure their safety, prosperity, and good character.  It is the desire to have our will being done and not His will that causes us to dislike the rod of correction, but when we desire His will to be done, we embrace the rod.  IF you want to defeat evil, submit to His will FIRST.  For example Romans 16:19 first says to be excellent at what is good and innocent of evil, then God will crush Satan underneath your feet.  James 4:7 is usually misquoted to only say resist the devil and he will flee from you.  It is all too often forgotten that the verse begins with submitting to God.  First things first!  Jesus submitted to the will of the Father and suffered for our sins not only to save us but to set an example for us to live by.  Let us crucify our will so that His will can be done in our lives.  This is the path to victory!

Go out today and preach the gospel, and if you must, use words. St. Francis of Assisi

Proverbs 3:11-12 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:  For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

You truly know  you are a child of God when he cares enough about you to whip you.  Thank God that he chastised me and brought me back into His will, way and work.
