Greetings,

Many moons ago I attended the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Basic Stationary/Moving RADAR Operator's Course. If memory serves me correctly this is obviously recognized in all 50 states (Hence the word National). Is this a one time only required course? Reason why I ask is that my department requires refresher training every 2 years or they wont allow us to pull a radar.

As a radar/laser instructor, once you have been certified you are qualified to operated any radar/laser unit on the market. It is some department policies to have refresher training for officers.

Thank you sir. That's what I have come to understand as well. Just needed a second opinion.
