I have a new group for military and law enforcement officers meant for sharing your war story whether it's from the streets of Iraq to the streets of NY. Tell your story.

heres a small tidbit---what was it 1977?? reggie jackson and the ny yankees did it again and won the world series. New York hosted the yankees with the usual tickertape parade up broadway in nyc to the city hall where the  team was hosted by the mayor.  My partner zeke and I were detailed from our command in bed-stuy to the parade detail and we were assigned to a flatbed trailer on which many of the champion team rode thru the parade.  being good ghetto cops, zeke and I decided to ride on the trailer rather than walk....we met all our players and i got the entire group of yankees on our trailer to sign a page on my memo book.............where is all this going??imagine what the autographs would be worth today?? yeah but in that same memobook was trial data and my memo book was put into evidence and i lost all the autographs.....oh well.great time was had.

since no one else will tell a war story-here's another for your perusal?

I lived off nostrand avenue in the 67th precinct section of brooklyn when I got married in june of 71. One week after returning from my honeymoon in the Pocono Mts, my new bride and I went for our first weeks grocery shopping as a married couple. Friday nite 5:30PM WE ARE WALKING TOWARD THE CHECKOUT COUNTER WHEN MY WIFE ASKS THAT WE GO TO THE DELI DEPT. FOR SLICED PEPPERONI AND SALAMI, I TURN THE CART AWAY AND WALK FOR MAYBE TWENTY SECONDS WHEN  I HEAR A BAGGER YELL TO THE MANAGER OF THE MARKET THAT THEY HAD JUST BEEN STUCK UP. I LOOK OUT THE LARGE FRONT WINDOWS AND SEE THREE MALE BLACKS, TWO ARMED, ONE CARRYING TWO REGISTER DRAWERS, RUNNING AWAY FROM THE EXIT TOWARDS A SIDE STREET, I PUSHED MY WIFE TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE STORE, TOLD HER TO CALL 911 AND SPRINTED AFTER THEM.  FIFTY YARDS TO A CORNER AND THEY ROUND IT JUST AS I EXIT THE STORE, BY THE TIME I GET THROUGH THE RUSH HOUR CROWD AND TURN THE CORNER TO THE SIDE STREET THE THREE MALES ARE JOINING A FOURTH AT THE ESCAPE AUTO, A BROWN 4DR BUICK , I YELL FOR THE MALES TO STOP WHEN I AM ABOUT 40 YDS AWAY, ONE MALE TURNS BEFORE GETTING INTO THE CAR AND FIRES TWO ROUNDS FROM A REVOLVER, I RETURN FIRE FIRING TWO, TWO ROUND SETS AT SAID MALE-UNKNOWN HIT-AT THIS TIME, A KID WHOM I COACHED IN BASKETBALL SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND GOT HIS DAD (WHO HAPPENED TO BE HARRY OBRIEN OF HWY2) HARRY COMES DRIVING AROUND THE CORNER , I JUMP IN HIS CAR, AND WE TAKE OFF IN PURSUIT-AFTER TWELVE BLOCKS WE LOST THEM, SO WE RETURNED TO THE SCENE....well, we harry and i pull up to the scene in his auto, we are greeted by twenty or so pistols and shotguns pointed at us. the call didnt come in as a robbery in progress, or a past robbery, or three males with guns, no SHOTS FIRED IN THE 67TH PRECINCT, NOSTRAND AVE AND AVE D. SUSPECT MALE WHITE EARLY TWENTIES. YELLOW SWEATSHIRT, FIRING SHOTS, ESCAPED IN BLUE FORD.  YUP THAT WAS ME...THANKFULLY ALOT OF GUYS RECOGNIZED HARRY AND DEFUSED THE SITUATION.    ONE MALE BLACK LATER SHOWED UP WITH GUNSHOT WOUND TO BUTTOCKS, BKLYN ROBBERYSQUAD DID INTERVIEW AND ARRESTED MALE AND TWO CONFEDERATES FOR ATT. MURDER P/O, ROBBERY WEAPS ETC.  MY WIFE CHANGED SUPERMARKETS THE NEXT WEEK.

While attending the outdoor shooting cycles at rodmans neck, did you ever notice that after a real "refreshing" lunch at City Island, Your shooting scores were much better in the afternoon?
