Blame must also go to those who post photos which generate inappropriate comments..... If one gets sanctioned for inappropriate comments, the owner of said photo must also be sanctioned for posting it - knowing, full well, that it will generate attention and comments.

Not necessarily. The photo albums are patrolled as much as possible and inappropriate photos are identified and removed. The responsible party is cautioned about posting said photos. 80% of the problem is people posting comments on perfectly tasteful photos, such as 'you're so beautiful', 'let's have dinner', etc.... The member who posted the photo has the right to post a picture of themself without having to worry about being hit on. This happens ALL the time, believe me...I know.

I still have a hard time with the ones that are posted with the sole purpose of generating attention.  The flirty, half dressed pictures with the pouty lips and ridiculously self posed pics.  No need to post dozens and dozens of pics in nearly the same pose either.

If the photo violates the rules, it's dealt with. Unfortunately, there's no set rule on how many photos of yourself you can post....even the pouty lipped look at me type pics. One thing is constant....the attention wh.....errr....seekers never report that they are receiving inapprpriate comments.

Well yeah - that's certainly true - point taken.  But I do understand the ones that don't ask for it and the ones that post on any pretty picture  -those are the ones you are doing a great job of keeping the comments off this site! Thanks!

I forwarded this to member of my old department and they incorporated it into a section of roll-call training so thanks for posting it!

I'll be direct about this subject.  Inappropriate comments on photos are not only degrading to YOU, the person in the photo, and PL; but they may consititute a TOU (www.policelink.com/terms) violation.

Recently I was browsing through the photos section and noticed some of these comments posted on a few photos in a young lady's album.  Her photos were appropriate for the website, but the comments below made me ashamed to be associated with the members who left them.  These PL members were both LEO and non-LEO.  I can give the non-LEOs a side to side shake of the head considering that non-LEOs are not held to the same standards as LEOs, but you LEOs who choose to leave comments such as "you are wanted" and "very sexy" on the photos of a woman need to rethink where you are coming from. 

LEOs, think.  Would you want your Chief, coworkers, wife, or children looking at what you wrote?  If you think it can't happen, then you are either naive or in the wrong field of work.

Back to the photos I saw these comments on...some may be thinking, "What's the big deal?" 

The photos were on the profile of a high school student who wishes to be a police officer one day.  As I stated, her photos were completely appropriate...it was the comments left behind by non-LEOs and LEOs alike on a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT'S profile that were inappropriate.  This needs to stop. You may wish to research the profile of the person you're about to comment on before clicking that submit button.

As an addendum to the "Comments" issue I would like to remind people that it is the pictures that are being posted that generate these lascivious comments.  Please, we do not need your bikini shots, butt shots, down-the-shirt boob shots or any other shots of that nature (Including the "muscle-shots" from the guys) that are a violation of site rules and TOU's. 

We can all be professional and also have some fun here at PL without the "Beefcake" and "T&A" pictures being posted all over the place.  There are other sites for that sort of thing so if that is all you are here for then pack up your pictures and head on over to MySpace or FaceBook or some similar site and knock yourself out!

BE WARNED: Continuing to make inappropriate comments on photos may lead to sanctioning or permanent removal of a member if found to constitute a TOU violation.

BUMP!!!!!   I've seen some photos by the ladies put up there that are totally inappropriate...As a female I find them offensive most are non-leo females obvious badge bunnies...And the comments are a bit much, I would expect as much from a 14 year old kid but you guys are supposed to be professionals...

May I might add LADIES these photos are all over the web, they don't just stay on P/L try googling your screen name and hitting images....Try googling just your screen name EVERYTHING COMES UP and I do mean EVERYTHING

This will continue to be an issue so long as the poster gets the response.  So stop responding and get rid of the ones who post them.  I saw one yesterday on a brand new account.  Two pictures and one of the poses was something you wouldn't expect to see on a professional site.  Irritating to say the least.  They need to move back over to the other adult sites for that crap.

Beware.  If you have accepted friendship from someone like this please let a Moderator know and remove that person from your friends list.  It is improper and unsafe!  I am just really concerned about people like that.
