This will be a final warning to all. Hello PLovians, I'll be direct about this subject. Inappropriate comments on photos are not only degrading to YOU, the person in the photo, and PL; but they may consititute a TOU (www.policelink.com/terms) violation. Recently I was browsing through the photos section and noticed some of these comments posted on a few photos in a young lady's album. Her photos were appropriate for the website, but the comments below made me ashamed to be associated with the members who left them. These PL members were both LEO and non-LEO. I can give the non-LEOs a side to side shake of the head considering that non-LEOs are not held to the same standards as LEOs, but you LEOs who choose to leave comments such as "you are wanted" and "very sexy" on the photos of a woman need to rethink where you are coming from. LEOs, think. Would you want your Chief, coworkers, wife, or children looking at what you wrote? If you think it can't happen, then you are either naive or in the wrong field of work. Back to the photos I saw these comments on...some may be thinking, "What's the big deal?" The photos were on the profile of a high school student who wishes to be a police officer one day. As I stated, her photos were completely appropriate...it was the comments left behind by non-LEOs and LEOs alike on a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT'S profile that were inappropriate. This needs to stop. You may wish to research the profile of the person you're about to comment on before clicking that submit button.

| Posted over 4 years ago I myself have seen those comments and wondered WTH are they thinking. It makes me think those leaving that type of remark were hoping to make a connection. | Posted over 4 years ago Not only on the pics but on the Tributes too....I have had many "compliments", but I delete them as soon as I see them because it's kind of embarrassing...I wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about me and those kinds of comments don't help! And the only pic of me you'll see is my avitar...this site is not about what I look like in a bikini or daisy dukes, I 'll leave that for My Space!! | Posted over 4 years ago We (myself and several other now "gone" members) dealt with this several months ago. We handled it one on one with the offenders and were told that maybe we were being to harsh on them! Go figure! |

Well I will clarify y statment, I HAVE NOT MADE ANY DEGRADING OR OFF COLOR COMMENTS ABOUT A PL MEMBER ON HERE NOR WILL I, I have more respect for my profession and those I work with directly or indirectly and those that support us! I just wanted to make sure some statment to someone here or in a post taken the wrong way, and would like to make it right and if I'm wrong appologize! |
