Our department is changing over to e-tics here in the near future. How has your department adapted to this new procedure, and how do you like it as opposed to the old conventional way.?

We went to E-tickets about 2 yrs ago...its easier than hand writing tickets all day. Scan the license and registration, put in the time, section violated and court date and time and print it out. It used to take me about 20 minutes, from time of violation to cutting the person loose, hand writing the tickets. It now takes me about 12 minutes...unless I come up with something else. Some of the other states licenses can also be scanned, which makes it easier. One thing that I don't like is that there is no more hard copies with your notes...its all on the computer. Once we went to E-tickets the phone calls stopped...LOL

We, ISP, switched to E-Ticket around November of 2006...I think. I believe it has more pros than cons, but most of the older troops who have been around a lot longer than me cant stand it. They call it "E-Target" because they are too busy messing with their laptops than paying attention to the violators. But as for me, and the majority of troopers that I work with.....love it. Its so much faster and easier to point and click. Especially if you have multiple citations...you can issue up to 4 paper UTTs on one E-Ticket. You also have the ability to take a picture of the violator with the scanner and print it out for court. My only con i that not all states DL's are compatable..and Im a slow typer. So...sometimes you have to type all the DL and vehicle info in...not a bigge. That and my printer never seems to work...which has nothing to do with the E-Ticket system. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

On a side note, Ive been in a pool car for 2 months since my transmission blew and Im back ti writing paper UTTs. Press hard, 5 copies!! I was spoiled with E-Ticket!

At this time, we are making the current change to E-Tickets. I am interested in seeing the opinions of others who are currently using E-  Tickets.

I never thought there were enough E-tickets in the books.  I always ended up having to combine my A, B, C & D tickets to make up the amount of an E ticket.  Or just buy more E-tickets.

We were talking about how Disneyland used to do it, arent we?

Another great thing about E-Tickets, once you type in or scan in the first one, any additional tickets, just hit "Add companion citation" and it pastes everything on for you, just add the new charge.

We changed to E-tickets in 2006 and after the bugs were worked out of the system it has been working fine.  Just make sure there is only one person dealing with the system as an administrator.

We have to be different we call it E-citation but as long as the printer works and you have ink it's excellent. I would however recommend a thermal printer or laser printer. It has made it much faster, much neater, and less room for error as the program wont generally let you make a mistake. It also prints out a set of complete instructions regarding mandatory court, pre-pay information, contesting citation, and traffic school.

Tripoint Communications is interested in assisting the Royal Bahamas Police Force in establishing e-citation terminals for Police bikes, motor bikes and cars.  The wireless technology we will use is GPRS to transmit the data to and from the Police Department's back end we will like to provide them with the devices can you assist
