With all my years in Law Enforcement I never ran across a Bail Enforcement Agent AKA Bounty Hunter. I knew they were out there but never dealt with any. Now I am one and want to know what others have to say about them. I am trying to run a very professional business and so far I have been treated with respect from LE. Most of them I talk to at the jail receiving area and ask me what and who are you. I have been successful at educating them a little and hope that over time we will be looked at as just another area of LE and not just a bunch of yahoos with guns. Yes there are a few out there but from what I have found most are good people.

Every one I have run into has been way too gungho.. Wearing a tactical vest and holster, badges hanging on chains, and sticking their nose in every where.. Maybe I have just run into the weird ones..

All thats is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

Mark, some are first class, some are idiots. Really depends on what company you end up dealing with. I too am retired from a CA agency and am now a bail bond agent. Some recovery agents like to think they are Dawg the idiot or like that clown Leonard Padilla in Sacramento. These two morons give all bail agents a black eye. Good luck with your biz. Get a skip In Tx, gimme a growl

I am a licensed Bail Bonds Agent here in CA, and I have done and am currently doing fugitive recovery. In CA, You can not open carry, you have to have it concealed and have a CHL as well. Now tasers on the other hand are a different story,. I always carry my taser on my thigh rig and and my gun in my concealed holster . I have a black flap that hangs from the back of my bulletproof vest that conceals my gun. But its on the floor now at the capital to pass an open carry law here in Texas, and it should pass.
