dolphinblue, just being able to share this story of your torture was and is a big part of recovery and thank you for sharing it with us. I hope you can get into Law Enforcement in a position where you can help make sure this does not happen to any more innocent child victims. Don't wait too long though as everyday you delay gives a creep a chance to torture another child.

You see I never told anyone ,but i also was molested when I was a young boy . First as a boy while walking to a fishing hole in the woods bya male nut. Then by a man acting as a baseball coach  .You are the first to know about this .Now all PL will see it and know that this probably has happened to more than you can imagine.

Thanks for sharing  and it is an honor to be your friend.

Sherry,

Thank you for sharing your story.  Over the years I have investigated many cases of abuse involving newborns to adults in their 30' & 40's that are now just disclosing the incidents.  It is always hard to understand why a person does what she or he is doing to others; power and control are often mentioned are underlying causes.  But I believe that some people are just evil......they will abuse no matter their background, birth right, social status, employment status, education or lack thereof.......it is like they are born that way.  Those are the people who need to be put away forever.......they won't make it in society, unless on managed care with just the right amount of drugs......but if released who polices them to ensure they continue to take the meds and/or won't commit a crime again.

I am very happy that Jaycee Dugard was safely returned after being abducted eighteen years ago.  But the nightmare for that women will remain etched in her mind forever.  She had two children from her abductor and that will always be in the forefront of every step she takes with them.  The emotional trauma will be real for her and those two children.  I hope the two involved will be put away forever, even though I know that both are head cases.  They will continue to abuse.

I am glad that you are in control of your emotions, that you are helping others and that you continue on your long road of healing and recovery.  You are a special person and I thank you for being a friend of mine and police link.

Thank you for sharing your story, you are a true inspiration!  I believe that there are angels on this earth that walk amoungst us, and I believe that YOU are one of those beautiful angels.

I am a sexual abuse survivor myself, at the hands of my very own father.  I was the youngest of five girls.  My sisters all ran away from home and lived on the streets and prostituted themselves for a roof over their heads and for food in their stomaches.  I could not let that happen to me.  I left home at age 15, got married to a soldier, and became a mother.  My father always told me that I was ugly, stupid and worthless, he said no one would or could ever love me.  My sisters chose to believe his nonsence crap and their lives today reflect it.  I said, no! NO WAY!!!!  I am beautiful because God made me!  I am smart and I am worth something!  I joined the military and made it my career, I am Army strong!  Like you, I have a great faith in God, and knowing that he made me and he loves me and he is watching over me and with me every single day, and he hears me when I cry, when I'm ashamed, feeling scared or quilty and alone.  Prayer is so powerful!  My best friend is a CW-5 pilot in the Army, he now works for Black water in Iraq and is soon moving into afghanistan.  He was also a cop!  He was my mentor, my rock, my strenght.  my boyfriend now is a cop and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me besides my children and grandchildren.

You are a very special person and you will be a true blessing to all you come in contact with.  I am proud to know you and call you friend.  You are surelly destined for great things!  God bless you!

Thank you blue_id_soldier_girl and you are a true hero and inspiration yourself.  I tell my story to give strength and courage to those who still hide behind the shame and fear.  It is not theirs to bear. God bless and take care.

Dear Sherry,

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I don't know what to say other than "i'm sorry for what you had to suffer through " at such a young age. In the future, when you think about your past, and if you ever wonder 'why?' look at how you have touched seasoned officers like the ones that replyed to your story, including myself, and know that if you can move these men amd women, you did not suffer these horrors in vane.

With all my respect and admiration,

John

Thank you depsheriff350.  I strongly believe there is a silver lining and blessing to be found in every situation whether it be good or bad.  My past has taught me to recognize the signs of manipulation, deceitfulness, lying,  and evil.  It taught me to handle emergencies with calmness and confidence.  I started mentoring children in teenage years and telling my story in my early twenties.  So.....do not be sorry......I am very much OK with my past....there are  lessons to be learned in every situation...and I have intently studied my past and read all measure of books on leadership  and the like.

A very moving life story. I only hope that one day I can help change someones life.  You are very rare.

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.

Thanks for sharing your story with me Sherry, I was to moved by it.   I doubt you will ever be free from the affects of those who tortured you as a child,  but by the Grace of God, you can use the events of your life to Help People,  You are right it is your choice to do it.   I grew up in a normal family and never had any things like that ever hapen to me.  I have 4 Daughters and I know that they are Gods Gift to me to Protect,  I would say that is a major reason why I went from doing Mission work to being a Deputy,  it is about helping people where and when you can.  I take any calls with children the most serious, ( ok the ones where I have had to use my weapon and have guns pointed at me got my attention too,)  we have to protect them,  people have to have all kinds of permits to do everything in life, Except have children.  These little ones are born into all kinds of situations,  you well know.   As officers it is our highest Duty to protect them whenever and however we can...... Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

Do not doubt rvmilton, once you are free from your abusers it is your choice to live as a survivor or a victim.  This is why I have told my story.  No one needs to live in fear of telling.....it is silence that allows the abuser to continue.  Thank  you in your efforts to protect children...and all others who do the same.  Take care, be safe and be strong.

Sherry:

You have chosen strength, empowerment, protection, and courage in a situation where many may have fallen or remained the victim...You are proving one of the tenents of law enforcement and the law enforcement profession....You may be wondering what I could possibly be thinking of...

When I lecture, I tell other law enforcement professionsals that if they are shot and laying in the street, they do not have to die, they can choose life...they can push beyond what many people think is impossible....it is so different, yet the message in your strength is the same. You have chosen to see the light, protect the innocent,

You have chosen to live....and the world is a better place for it...

You have chosen the law enforcement profession, and we, your brothers and sisters, are better because of  you...

Thank you for sharing your story, sharing your strength and wisdom, and never forget, you are cared for, you are special...and you are a member of the law enforcement family...and despite what others may think, we do , in the proper way, take care of our own. Your burden is ours...

Thank you MIchael for your heartfelt words....I do understand what you mean....I own my memories of that time and they are most precious and dear because they reflect the tremendous  love , care, concern, and resilience of children and how they can overcome the most formidable odds....remember I am not  a LEO  ....but hopefully that dream will come  true in the near future.

Keep teaching Michael, they need to hear the mind is a powerful tool when is comes to survival....mind over matter....it truly does make a difference.

Take care, be safe, stay strong

I removed a part of my response to Michael (oden 347) because I revealed a part of the abuse and that is not the direction of my post.  I could say more but this is just too public a site.

My father is an alcoholic and was abusive to my mother and I.  Some people are able to rise above their abuse and some sink in it.  You and I are two that rose above it.  My apologies for everything that you have suffered and may the rest of your life be a smooth one.
