| Posted about 1 year ago BUMP for learning to survive through the help of others! (This bump is to put the topic back at the top. For others who may be struggling to survive. So they can learn through reading it. I pray that others find the strength that dolphinblue found all those years ago.) |

| Posted about 1 year ago And your strength has helped others to know that they too can survive and that they are not alone... There are many people who through reading your story have been able to get theirs out... There is probably even more who after reading it have held their hand out for that little girl we all so very much wanted to help while reading your story... But that little girl that they reach out to is one who is in the here and now... |

| Posted about 1 year ago Your story touched my heart and I felt the pain, if only for a moment, of what you must have had to endure on a regular basis. It is a very sad, but inspirational story of what I'm afraid has become all to common in our world we live in today. I struggle with feelings of anger and wrath towards people who do these horrific things to children and women and one of the hardest things for me to do is to only hate what they do and not hate them as well. Only through Christ can I pray for them and not condemn them. May God Bless and continue to keep you, and may your story continue to touch and help others who desperately need to see that no matter what we may go through, God can still bring something good out of it and cause it to be a blessing for multitudes of people. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Sherry, Thanks so much for your courage to share yoru story. I am a very God loving man and your story has deeply touched me. It reminds me of what God can do in our lives. I beleive that God gave the world free will and this was the beginning of evil. Can God keep these things from happening? Yes, however he would be taking away the free will that the human race earned starting with Adam and Eve. The most glorious fact is what you have done with your free will and how you have responded to the world around you. Your story is the glory of God. I applaud your strength but more than anything I applaud your courage to make a diffrence. I am currently getting ready to retire from the AF military police and enter civilian law enforcement. I am not doing it for the money, or for the glory or for the adventure. Im doing it for what you so strongly stated in your post, I am doing it to make a diffrence and because I want to continue to protect and serve. I wish you well. Again thanks for the courage to share your story. |

| Posted about 1 year ago while no one can fully understand the abuse you suffered, some of us who have been through similar circumstances feel the same feelings that you have and will continue to have in relation to this topic. without God, many of us would not have survived the abuse we suffered. even one occurance of abuse to a child is a violation of the individual's rights, abuse suffered repetitively and over long periods of time, especially occurring at such a young age, creates many changes to the child's way of thinking, of perceiving the world. I know how it feels to be so young and so innocent, to see the world with rainbows and butterflys one day, and the first time the abuse started for me I was only about two years old. after that first time, the world was never as bright and colorful as before. the fact remains, it will never be the same, but we learn to grow from it, and as for myself, I have become totally intolerant of any behavior of abuse to a child or innocent victim, in fact, although I have no hate in my heart for anyone, (my abuser finally died of a massive heart attack when I was about 15), I was so relieved when the man was released into hell. I would not be able to defend, nor counsel, nor understand an abuser of children, in fact, while working on my BS/CJA, I realized that I would not be "fair and impartial" toward any person accused of this type of abuse to children. It is best that I pray for evil to simply leave this world, than to have to be "fair and impartial" to the evil while it is in this world. You are strong, and you have the opportunity to help rid the world of evil, at least to lock it up and keep it away from our children. Thank you for sharing your story. Peace to you. |

| Posted 11 months ago Inspirational to say the least. I smell movie rights. Funny how the only enumerated right that contains the phrase "shall not be infringed" suffers the heaviest regulation. I'm still trying to find where it says anything about hunting and targets. |

| Posted 11 months ago When I read this post, it brought tears to my eyes. I have dealt with many atrocities done towards children throughout my career but never came across something as bad as this was for you. I wish to applaud you for your courage and your ability to move past this terrible part of your childhood. Despite the odds you managed to make a good life for yourself and pursue a career to help others in need. You have heaped kudos on the LEO world for their help but I am heaping kudos on you for being able to get past this h#llish nightmare and not letting it bring you down but give you the strength to shine. May God bless you throughout the rest of your life. |

To the contrary we all should thank you for the courage to share your story. Funny how the only enumerated right that contains the phrase "shall not be infringed" suffers the heaviest regulation. I'm still trying to find where it says anything about hunting and targets. |

| Posted 10 months ago Giving this forum a big ol BUMP. Sherry is a strong woman and I hope that she does get movie rights to this story. I would go especially if the story line involved her life now as a strong independant woman that battled the odds and WON. Love ya Sherry and God bless you and yours. Bad stuff happens to good people, handle it and overcome.
