| Posted over 2 years ago Wow, Most excellent read and such a strong person! I can not relate on a personal level, but know someone who can and I have forwarded this to her. Thanks from both of us for that sharing. I never under estimate my children or children in general, many times they are much smarter than some of the adults I deal with good and bad. Thanks... |

| Posted over 2 years ago God Bless the children. I worked in Childrens Services for about 6 years. I worked in Child Protective Services, Preventive Services and Foster Care. Some of these children went through a living hell at the hands of relatives and others entrusted with their care. Mankind's inhumanity is alive and well, but so is the will to survive. |

| Posted over 2 years ago Sherry Your story is horrific. For you to survive this mentally and physically speaks volumes of will to survive and no longer be a victim. Bless you for your strength and determination. Watch Oprah on 5th November - not quite what you experienced, but tales of abused children. For what it is worth, and not to minimize your terrible experience, but is worked Computer Crimes - Exploitation of Children for many years. The things i have seen will stay with me for ever. Gob Bless you D/C Colin Davies Badge 6745 (Retired)

| Posted over 2 years ago After reading this, I am a cocktail of emotions. I am so disgusted by the perpetrators, so proud to meet you, in awe that you turned out the way you did, and in amazement for your strength and courage. I am enraged that people dared to abuse you and the others, I fear for the future of other young victims of abuse and would gladly assist in facilitating any prosecution. Needles to say, I worked on the side as a Court Appointed Advocate for abused/neglected Children. It it frustrating, difficult and heartbreaking but I know I did the right thing. What else can I say? I am proud of you!!! Yours, V

| Posted over 2 years ago Blue Friend, I am a father of a victim of date rape and I attempt to aid in her struggles to cope everyday. Thanks for sharing your plight and your courage makes us stronger and willing to forgive. I leave you with a passage from the greatest book ever written: The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. Strangers will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards. And you will be called priests of the LORD, you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. “For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them. Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed.” I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.

| Posted over 2 years ago There is no being that deserves Gods care more than the children suffering. How awesome is the Lord. My own personal experience with child abuse and the strength I carry today reminds me the possibilities available to everyone, no matter what condition we have been put in, yet only with the strength of God do we have a chance. So I give thanks to those who protect others (LEO) , and thanks to God for giving us the strength to do his work. |

| Posted over 2 years ago You are a survivor GLENNBERG. You have chosen to draw on inner strength and courage and find the silver lining. No child should have to endure any kind of abuse, but it is the reality for many. Early social education, including teaching of character and how to have an assertive and compassionate personality, goes a long way in helping children deal with difficult situations. Children come to an eariler acceptance they are not to blame for abuse committed against them. dolphinblue-Sherry |

| Posted over 2 years ago well let me say this, what happened to me at the hands of a priest left me not only confused and hurt but later on viciously angry. To me it seems like all religion is a pretext to power and meant to enslave not enlighten. I respect your religious views as I realize most of you are good people. But to the priest who abuses and a church who goes to great lenghts to hide it. I have nothing but not only contempt but downright hatred. I will stop at nothing to not only uncover the hyprocricy but to see these guys in jail and have them labeled for what they are, not pedophiles as that is to kind but child rapists. like i said earlier dophn sometime me and you need to talk. |

rickm, your childhood experience was very unfortunate. We know there are individuals in every walk of life and profession that make a personal choice to abuse their power. Unfortunately, it sheds a bad light on the rest of their kind. Power is never the problem, it is what one does with the power they are bestowed with that is the issue. Power comes with great responsibility. Some can not handle that. Anytime you want to talk rickm, I'm here. dolphinblue-Sherry |
