As a Father of two wonderful girls, it pains me deeply too see and hear of children hurt by the ones they love and cheerish. The Pain has even struck very close to home. It was only last summer that my own daughters we abused by thier mothers boyfriend. They told me that he would hit them and pinch them to toughen them up. To read this remarkable story, it always reembelishes the fact, God will protect us from the evils that try to engulf us.  My oldest told me the other day, " Daddy, When I grow up I want to be a police officer, just like you." Your story is truly remarkable. Always Watch your six out there.

Wow Sherry, You are very brave to talk about what happening to you. you brought tears to my eyes. Here where I work I run into that kind of stuff and it 's very hard to watch the  little one suffer those kind of abuse. Right now the Jr.High student is living with an aunt and thanks to those kinds of people that will step in there to protect our kids.

This is a very touching story.  Children will always remember the experiences in their life either good or bad.  Unfortunately, this woman had to endure a great deal of pain and anguish, but she had a little help from God to keep her composure as a child trusting in her elders.  This is what sickens me about the world, children are our future.  If an average person were to just talk to a child, and pick their brain a little bit, then we would see that children are the purest form of humans on this earth that we can get.  They are not prejudice towards one another, until they are taught hate, but they intermingle with one another with ease.  They are trusting and lovable by all aspects.  When a person has a hard day, a child can be there to make us smile.  Children are innocent and that's the way they need to stay.  I have come to realization, as I got older and my best friend having a child,  seeing her makes me calm and stress free.  There is work to be done to teach children the right things, but with people out there abusing children with a blatant disregard for a human life or common decency, our country will always be in turmoil.  Humans were made to Love, but now the Pack, the LEO's, have to turn that Love into pure hate, for the ones that have made the cognisant decision to hurt and defile a child.  I too over time, have grown into, from reading and taking in all the horrible news tragedies, this hate for these dispicable, unscrupulous and irrational human beings.  Love is stronger than all, and that Love is now being used, as the main driving force, for all LEO's, to make things right and just, so that we all can enjoy what little time that we have here on earth.  This amazing woman made it through this ordeal with, God, Love, victim support, and true warrior survival.  I commend you for your strength.  I show her true Agape Love for her and the other victims. ( Brotherly Love, look up the meaning, it may change your outlook on some things.)

Thank you for your response theguardman and I am glad you survived your childhood whatever the circumstances.   Scars remain to prove to us we really did survive our ordeal. Scars remain to give us a lasting memory of our strength, courage and determination to live. Scars are blessings that remind us we survived for a reason... that reason is to pass on encouragement and education to others.  May God protect and bless your pathway.

Your story gave me goosebumps...it's hard to fathom how a human being can harm another human for their own pleasure, especially a child. This is exactly why I am drawn to Law Enforcement. This is the reason I want to be a cop. Is to help protect innocent lives that should never have to endure that kind of pain. I wish with all my heart that you never would have had to live through that ordeal, but I'm glad you survived and became the strong woman you are today. God bless you....

Sherry,

First off, thank you for having the courage to share your painful story with us.  I can't and won't even try to imagine what you felt or went through, other than recognizing that it was awful, horrible and dispicable that an adult who was supposed to be caring for you, betrayed you.

I'm so angry at the these people that hurt you and the other children.  How can an adult hurt an innocent child and still say they care?  And going against God?  That just blows my mind!  I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in a higher power, similar to God.  But I don't believe in Satan that's for sure.

I'm happy to know that you had a support group and found a way, in sorts, to escape the pain. I'm also happy to hear that you survived and grew up into a POSITIVE person that has dreams and goals. No doubt you are scared for life from this monstrosity of abuse on a child, but it's wonderful to see you haven't let it beat you.   I pray that those people were punished for this hateful crime they all committed.  I have the feeling that some might be related to you, but it doesn't make it any easier and it doesn't make it okay.

You keep shooting for the stars because the sky's the limit and beyond for you and your friends that were also abused.  Keep your head held high as you have been.  I'll include you in my personal prayers as well as the others.  You are truly an inspiration for everyone! God Bless you Sherry!!

Thank you for sharing. It reminded me of much of the difficult cases I worked on as a Detective. I had many child abuse cases in a smaller department over the years. During my last year in la enforcement I worked on a case of abuse by a mother. We were unable to gather enough evidence to prosecute the mother. Last year, almost 30 years later, a detective from my department called me to tell me that the child eventually died and the prosecutor had decided to reopen the case. The same pain I had originally felt in my heart returned at even discussing the details as I remembered them. While I was happy to be called on this case, it does bring back much of the frustration and the tears wrought by actually working on the case.

I cannot feel what you feel, but as a father, grandfather and great grandfather, I shed tears at hearing your story. At the same time I feel great joy at your ability to rise above it all and have a direction in your life that can be a help to so many that have had a similar experience. You can also glorify the Lord by your responses that those parts and parcel that have produced the amazing you. God Bless you and your testimony.

God, knows who is strong, God knows who can survive, God puts a tenter touch to his children, God knows that one can bare only so much, God turns theirs head, to shut  the hurt and anger out, Only the children that go through this unbareable grief, know the feeling, the dirty shievering feeling, hoping not to hear the foot steps, or the creek of the floor, or the door opening to come take you, You stand in the shower for hours, Washing the skin off your arms and legs till they are raw. You cry under the water too make the hurt go away. Always wanting to know why a family member whats to hurt you this way? Only the children know. I knew it was you from the beginning. The children do listen, and only the children know what you feel. that have gone threw that same or close too.  You are a SURVIVOR, you are STRONG, YOU WERE A VICTIM.You can make a difference in the world. and not many can do what you did without going insain By floating above or shutting it out, Got the child where she is today, And the other children where they are today. I can relate  Sherry You made. it.. .

I don't know what to say but what I know about this story of your life is this, It touched me deeply, I felt the pain and sorrow you were feeling.  I also was feeling empowered and inspired at the same time.  Situations like yours, having to deal with horrific actions of someone else like the one you went through is the reason why I wanted to be in Policing.  My children are my life and my soul and to be honest I can feel like that for any child in need of help.  As a child I too was put through some abuse that I can't talk about so freely like you can about yours.  Maybe when the time comes I can.  Thank You for your story.
