Posted over 5 years ago My daughter is graduating from UW in Seattle in March with her Bachelors in behavioral psychology, she is considering going to CTC school afterwards & then USAF (I am USAF Vet). I would prefer her to go civilian K-9 units...my questions are what do you all suggest? and are there any speciality schools out there to assist her instead of the military? |

| Posted over 5 years ago Ma'am if I may ask Retired "O" or "E"?
If I may ask why not look to raise her Bachelors to a Masters or Phd. Level? Very Respectively

| Posted over 5 years ago wavez7 said: sorry it took me so long to respond...thank you for asking..Certified Training Counselor. Her bachelors is in Behavioral Psychology. She has been doing a great deal of research and said there are only 5 CTC registered in the U.S. and it is all regarding canines. She is looking at a school that is hard core 7 days a week "boot camp" type, for working with canines. I think she wants to take a break from the "kids" in the University levels...granted she is only 21 however, she can't take the attitudes of the party animals and don't care about grades groups and wants to continue with a STRONG fulfilling goal, then maybe go back when she has licenses in her pocket to help with the financial end of the masters and Ph.d...I am a disabled veteran and unfortunately I only can assist by getting information and e-mail ideas to her. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Mousee, Most veteran organizations offer scholarships. Also your daughter may be eligible under you GI bill. All branches of the service offer scholarships. There are alot of options available to your daughter for schooling. Perhaps the reserves would do her well. Go to Lackland as a dog handler after completion of MP school. Check with your local departments and online police dog handlers/breeders etc. Best of luck. Semper Fi. |
