*There is currently a campaign underway to honor a convicted cop-killer from Philadelphia named Mumia Abu-Jamal.
*Mumia Abu-Jamal was convicted for the 1981 killing of a Philadelphia Police Officer. *It does a disservice to the citizens of New York City to name a street after an un-repentant murderer. *The facts of the case are available at danielfaulkner.com
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call upon the New York City Council to not name any street within the city of New York after Mumia Abu-Jamal.
As the convicted murderer of a Philadelphia Police Officer in 1981, Mumia Abu-Jamal is not deserving of such an honor. To name a street after an imprisoned killer of a civil servant is not only a slap in the face to the law enforcement community, but also the public at large. Screw off punk. You claim to be a supporter on your profile and whine about people wanting to see a cop killer face the death penalty. Go home and play while we stand in the breach keeping you safe. Mumia killed a police officer. It is he that has shown no respect for life so why should anyone value his? You know nothing of the sacrifice we make everyday in the blood of slain brothers and sisters. You have no idea of the sacrifice we make in our personal lives daily. We set a postive example everyday by making these sacrifices and far more. So if there is any truth to your profile (and I doubt there is, how about making a positive example with a little integrity), you're a student. The real school is outside of the walls you supposedly learn in. Don't like LEOs? Let me understand this; you're coming on to a LE website and spewing this garbage? A bit pathetic, isn't it? You equate a slain officer to the scumbag that murdered him? Call a florist next time you're in it up to your neck or a loved one needs help. One day you may learn how misguided you are. |
