can we please make this a private group so not every civilian can join.  if its going to be a place for LEO's to come and exchange stories, i would feel better if it were made private.  thanks!

Well I am curious now, about “Southern Hospitality”. So curiouse in fact, I am flying in to Nashville on the 24th just to check out the famous Tennessee corn meal dough nuts I have been hearing so much about.

Quite the history rich State, Tennessee, being a history buff. Where to start ? Well I intended to rent a Harley, and have a little look around your neck of the woods.

We can look at making this group private, for LEO and Dispatchers only.....What does everyone think?

yes thats fine with me.  keeps the damn trolls out and allows discretionary topics to be discussed, in length, between those of us who actually do care.

Thanks for the invite, and I agree, I like the PRIVATE setting. I have what I believe to be an interesting story to share with you. Since retiring after 27 years on the job I work part time plain clothes security at a small shopping center in Baltimore. A few weeks ago, my partner and I received a phone call from one of the businesses in the shopping center stating that there was a man with a knife in front of the store and he was trying to stab people. I told her to call 911 and advised her that we would be right there.

Upon our arrival we observed a w-m-mid 20's lying on the ground with his pants down around his ankles and he was bleeding lightly from some scratches and puncture wounds on his upper body. At this point he began to pull on his penis as if he were trying to pull it off, the smile never left his face. He pulled on himself with such energy that I was sure he was going to detach it. I looked at my partner and said "what's he doing to do with it when he pulls it off".

We are standing there telling people that had gathered to back away and to leave him alone as it was obvious to us that he was having some drug induced episode. No sooner than saying this an older b-f walked up and began to talk to this drug crazed person saying "sir, you're exposing yourself, please cover yourself up" at this point our drugged out idiot fell in love, he jumped up, pulled the remainder of his clothing off and began to follow the lady who didn't listen to us.

I looked at my partner and said "here we go, retired and still have to fight naked druggies" just then uniform police arrived and took him into custody without further incident.

Further investigation revealed that just prior to our arrival the naked man had a knife and was in fact swinging it at people walking by. He apparently chose the wrong one to mess with as an unknown man took the knife away from him and stabbed him a couple of times with his own knife and fled the scene with the naked mans knife.

The shopping center I work for made all of us, there are 25 of us, retired and active police that work there, sign a personnel agreement stating that our security position is an UNARMED position and company policy says that no employees are permitted to be armed. This is mainly done because of insurance costs for armed security. It has become a don't ask don't tell position. The property manager knows that we are ALL armed! Us retired guys all have LEOSA permits and or Maryland conceal carry permits.

This shopping center in the last six months has had one homicide, and numerous armed robberies reported.

See retirement can be entertaining!

Please max out your 401's while active so you are not confronted with the possibility of fighting naked people when you retire, unless of course you enjoy naked wrestling!
