| Posted almost 5 years ago Ahhhh the epic battle between fixed wing and roto craft! If I need to get from point "A" to point "B" quickly, my weapon of choice will be the airplane, because of speed, and cost. From a safety factor, done properly, an autorotation can be done to an area the size of a tennis court where a plane can only slow to its stall speed (Usually between 50 and 60 mph) and is going to take much more room to stop. I would rather come down in an autorotation verus lookin' for the longest piece of flat, unobstructed real estate I can find! Answer- Plane = Speed & Cost Chopper = Slower, Expensive but less area needed to "burn in". Unless your this guy!!

| Posted almost 5 years ago Ok, but what about fun factor? Which one gives the most adrenaline rush? I LOVE to fly, period. But given a choice, it's the chopper that is the most exhilarating for me. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I never pass up any opportunity to fly, fixed or rotary wing, as a passenger that is. I am working on my Pvt. Pilot License now. I've taken the ground school and went for my FAA physical on 9/30. I hope to be starting on flight lessons in the next 30 days or so. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I think if I had to chose between Helicopter, or Airplane: I would chose the Helicopter because you can do alot more then a airplane but airplane is easier to fly. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I've flown in several planes and only one type of roto and that was a Huey in the Army. It was fun and I would jump at the chance to do it again. I'm a private pilot and own one third of a Piper Cherokee. I sure couldn't afford a helicopter, so unless the king's buying, I'll have to settle for flying the plane. It's a great diversion being up there and forgetting the stress of the street for a while. I do love it. |

| Posted about 4 years ago Helicopters are more fun to fly. You have to fly it all the time. I like the way BE206B3 hover IGE. An airplane will fly with little input after it is trimmed at cruise! They are less fatiguing for long flights, though.
