Posted almost 5 years ago Hello from Spain, I have this pair of breast badges but I have a question about them, are they used by police officers or by private security officers?. Thanks.

Posted almost 5 years ago They look like security badges to me. Usually, the seal in the middle of the badge is the state seal for whatever state that officer is in. The 2 seals in your pictures are generic seals. "People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. "

Posted over 4 years ago Rastry, Even in Spain you should know the difference between a Security Guard badge and a Law Enforcement Badge. The pictures that you posted both have the words "Security" on them. Whereas Law Enforcement Badges normally have the word "Police" on them....or some variation. The first picture that was posted in a generic security guard badge that can be purchased for about 15 dollars or less. The second one is from a private security company which is valued at a little bit more......to purchase one from Smith and Warren for example would be about 50 - 60 dollars. I am not familiar with the center seal on that badge. Are you just starting collecting badges? If so, you really need to start using Google to learn more about them. It is getting more difficul to obtain US law enforcement badges due to security issues / threats. Also, remember that you will have issues when trying to get the badges. Do not be disappointed if you find adversity or "caution" when dealing with police officers. Don't get caught wearing a badge that you are not entitled to wear. Just buying one, does not give you the right to wear it....even as a novelty. All badges that I own that are not part of my uniform are in display cases. If someone traded these badges to you as "law enforcement" badges, you were had. Good luck

Posted over 4 years ago Just want to clarify here the two "security" badges represented in pictures in this posting are what looks to be replica security badges, if they were would be very surprised a security agency would adopt them. As we should all know all security badges which are authentic are made by well known badge companies like Sun Badge, Entenmann-Rovin, Symbol Arts, Smith n Warren, Blackinton, Ed Jones, Nielson and V&V and many others out there, which haven't been mentioned. From what I can see these badges look to be knock off badges made from a cheap die, which is how a badge is made from the badge company. You can take a look at my collection I have posted on my profile to get an idea of what authentic badges may look like in quality and material for what they are. I am sure you will see a difference. -Just sharing my thoughts on this post, Jason
