Posted almost 5 years ago You know what gets me mad? People who think i'm just some damn badge bunny. I cant even join a simple little group, because i'm not a sworn officer. Ive tried to join a group recently that stated "For LEOs and Prosecutors adn those who put bad guys in jail". But they denied me saying i have to be a verified LEO or Prosecuter. Its not fair that people would treat me so unfairly and judge me because i'm not an LEO. I may not be a sworn officer or prosecuter or whatever, but I am a Loss Prevention Agent...I know what your thinking...."whoopee doo....she arrests people who steal." Actually I do, I arrest people and put them in jail. I also am part of Retail crimes partnership group headed up by the Bakersfield Police Dept here in Bakersfield Ca. Did you know that Organized Retail Crimes (some of the bad guys I arrest) also known as ORC or ORT, have been directly linked to supporting Terrorism? I have prosecuters and Detectives calling me every week to help identify and help them get these cases together and to help make the charges stick. I have successfully aided the police dept and prosecution in nailing several ORC groups here, and do know our DA for Bakersfield on a first name basis. Without people in a low level job like me, they wouldnt be passing these new laws on ORC. Companies lose about 60 billion alone in one year to ORC....and i dont know about where your at...but here, the police and the DA are very thankful to us minions.....and it's sad that I cant even join a simple little group.....I'm trying to do my part in aiding the fight against terrorism...only to be told that what i'm doing isnt good enough. People need to stop bieng so one sided. Im trying my best.........why isnt it good enough?? |

| Posted almost 5 years ago It's too bad you are mad about that, the problem is, whoever set up the group said LEO and prosecutors only. That was their perogitive. There are a number of forums that aren't closed to people that aren't law enforcement officers, they were designed for people that are not LEO's Being a law enforcement oriented board that allows private groups, that is going to happen. I'm sure when they set that group up, their intent was not to make you angry. It was to have a group that was private to LEO's and prosectors. I"m not a member either by the way and I"m not upset about it. I think you take that a bit too personal. That is just my opinion and worth every penny you paid for it.

The point is it said "AND those who put bad guys in jail...." I do.....they should have been clearer. And yes, im irked that my job isnt considered "Law Enforcement", even if I do the same thing. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Let me respond. I am the host of two groups here on PL, and both of my groups are for LEOs only. This is just simply because I want to fellowship with fellow officers in these groups, nothing more, nothing less.
I have a lot of friends on this site that aren't cops, and there is nothing wrong with that either.
The group stated that it was LEO only, so please try not to get so upset about it, there are plenty of other groups on this site that are for everyone. :)
I ALSO used to be in Loss Prevention, and I agree that there are some things that you do, that is like an officer, but it's also very different from being a sworn officer. I was in LP for 2 years and love it as well. It's a great job.
Stay safe in your job, and try not to be offended. You are very welcome on this site, but LEOs also have a right to fellowship with fellow officers. :) that's all! be Safe! |

| Posted almost 5 years ago You have been a member for 5 days and have two posts, both posts are identical and they are somewhat incendiary in nature. I'd say you are too new to be coming in and trying to ruffle feathers. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

See that's where you will have a different opinion than others and they will take offense. You do not do the same thing as cops. You are loss prevention, you catch shoplifters. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Your right it's not fair that someone has a group that wont let you in, hell just the other day I tried to join the Female officers only and just because I am a guy I couldn't get in, damn self righteous girls, just because I stand when I pee, doesn't mean I don't know what it's like to get PMS. It's just not fair, or your an overly sensitive self important moron that thinks too highly of yourself and your profession. |

welcome back Odin. you sharp words have been missed the last two days. It was once said the way to understand men is to understand their basic principles. 1 All men need to feel they are better than at least one other person. 2 Man naturally accumulates objects. 3 Man naturally feels his objects maybe less superior than his neighbors. 4 Men are naturally driven to improve his position in comparison to what he knows about others. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I used to be in Loss Prevention too. Was a manager for a while when I was young. Then, I grew up, became a cop, worked hard, made my bones, and became part of the family with all rights and privelages that I earned. If you want to be afforded those same rights, well do what the rest of us did. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago That's what I like, a FNg coming in and telling people that they are unfair to you. I joined PL when it first started and never said a word in here until I watched others. Do not come onto this link and piss people off and then expect them to welcome you with open arms. We have people coming in here everyday with one or two posts and THEY do turn out to be trolls, posers and or badge bunnies so sit back and relax and let people get to know you and then see where you can go. |

Damn...You too Odin? I asked to be let in also and they told me to go pack sand. I don't think is fair, after all I am married to a female, I have two daughters, a female dog, five sisters, a mother, 2 grandmothers, 1 mother in law, several aunts, female cousins and nieces, and I know the deputy DA who is a female. I also know a lot of other females on a first name basis. I DEMAND TO BE LET IN....I am not a female but by god I know what it is like to be one. In Honor of the Fallen. |
