SAN DIEGO – A pair of confused robbers apparently hit the wrong home Wednesday night in Ocean Beach, but robbed the two people they found there, anyway, police said.
The two men, one armed with a shotgun, burst into the residence on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard near Coronado Avenue shortly before 11 p.m., but seemed surprised once they got inside, said police Sgt. Rich Nemetz.
When they asked for “Zokie,” they were told that no one by that name lived there. But that didn't stop them.
“While I'm here, give me your wallet,” one of them reportedly told the residents.
The two victims surrendered their billfolds, but asked the crooks to return their identification cards.
And they did, Nemetz said.
The two robbers were described as Latinos in their 20s with shaved heads and dark clothing. Nemetz said they were seen driving off in a late-model gold Honda with tinted windows.
