I am so upset right now...It freaking blows...I was at a local store and as I backed out of the parking spot, my attention was diverted for a second. (NO...No pretty ladies or Monkeys)  Well you all know what I am gonna say next.  Yep,,,,,you got it....BAM.....POW...BANG. This pole came out of nowhere and jumped right behind my squad.

I guess paying attention to detail just went out of the window.

I think you need to file suit for not putting proximity alarms on their poles.

AHHHHH Deputy DAAAWWWWG that just at right. Why'd that pole have to attack you? Did you at least cuff it? LOL. Listen, are ya in the sad membership of those who have these things just jumping out at ya? If not, your boss won't be too upset will he/she? I'm ssooooooo sorry you're having a bad day.    What can we do to make you feel better?  Love going out to ya.    ~Diana

Bummer. Darn poles. That'd be a day off for us. I asked for Friday to coincide with my weekend when it happened to me.

I feel for ya Bro, had a pole jump 10 feet and hit my cruiser once, got a round of applause from the crowd attending the Brunswick Stew hunt club benefit.

Hitting a pole is bad enough but providing entertainment for the masses is REALLY embarrassing!

You know, I had a similar incident a couple weeks ago...except it was in my driveway and the culprit was my other car!  It was parked behind me (where I put it earlier in the day), and when I went to back out for work, BAM!  CRAP!!  So I wrecked BOTH my cars!  Luckily, very minor damage to the 500, none to the Explorer.

Did this once and rushed to the junkyard. Got it fixed so quick that my ex never found out about it.

Any time that you hit a pole and walk away it wasn't that bad.

Hitting a pole and still being able to drive away is better.  Who the hell wants to walk?

Look at the bright side, the car can be fixed and YOU’RE okay. It could have been worst such as hitting a person or you getting hurt.... I’m sure we all have done stupid things like this, I know I have! I backed out of a driveway off the edge at my babysitters along time ago and bent the control arm in HALF. Lesson learned though it was just one of those days....

I tore the fender off of my cruiser and found a body shop where I had a friend and he fixed it on my long break and no one was the wiser.

We drive white cars (we're phasing in solid black ones now) and several people have tried to fix small scratches with white out.   Just a friendly reminder here.............It ain't permanent.

You weren't paying attention and struck a foreign national from Poland because he was trying to get a good look at a United States policeman's car and now you're cursing him out like it's his fault.... My God man, where's your humanity?  Did you immediately summon a rescue squad for any possible injuries? Did you notify the Consular Office for a possible international incident? What the F#$% were you thinking?

Nevermind, I just figured it out it was a light pole not a Polish person... disregard the above message....Sorry for the rant...

Dang Bubba... I just hate it when that happens...  But I do know of some Gypsy Bondo Bandits that, for a minor fee, would make the damage look like almost new [damage that is].  Hope no loss review board heat come down on ya though.

At least it wasn't the Chief of Police's vehicle. My first day on the job 17 yrs ago...i backed out in his unit and hit a pole knocking his mirror completely off...good job he had a since of humour.  He said he knocked it off two weeks before i did and was able to keep it somewhat still connected.
