Amazing young lady there, GK.  She asks an age-old question, and maybe some day voices like hers will be heard and make a change in the way we treat ALL of the warriors in our lives.

There needs to be more people like her out here in this world. That was a truly amazing letter she wrote and I strongly agree with her

You should be very proud.  She is a very intelligent girl and she will go far in life.  This just shows that as a parent you are instilling in her great unselfish morals that those of us in public safety have everyday.  I wish you and your family well and to stay safe.

That's a great letter from such a young child.  It really does bode well for her future, and says a lot about her parents

There's still hope in our future when people like you are raising good citizens.  You should be proud

Great letter!  It is obvious that she loves and respects you.  We need more of this kind of attitude in our youth rather than the "its all about me" attitude.  Thanks for sharing!

Having been a jouralist, pastor, chaplain, grandpa and great grandpa, I have read a lot of letters people have sent to presidents, editors, family and friends...This young lady has expressed a very important subject with respect and authority...GOOD JOB.

Well for one thing you should be very proud of your daughter for writing this article which I am very sure you are. The letter is so true and I can't believe a child writes such a wonderful letter trying to get these things done because she wants to help her daddy and the many others that put there life on the line everyday of there lifes. This letter has really hit home and I just want to tell your daughter thank you for thinking about us out here on the home front and hope she gets what she is asking for.

You and your daughter should be praised Sir....First you in raising such a gifted child, and second for her being so articulate and so open minded as well as intelligent.  I work with adolescents on a daily basis and to see such a gift makes me feel good....we all want our childrent to succeed and succeed your daughter will.   Awesome letter young lady!!!!

LaDET     You should be very proud of your daughter we all know that the pay we recieve is always minamal and we barely can make ends meet but hey it's not about the money. Like most of us your struggling to help people and survive with your family intact at the same time. May god take care of you and your family and the rest of your LEO family as well.

That is purely wonderful!!! I have 5 kids and 3 jobs and can barely make ends meet sometimes.  i don't complain but wonder why won't governemnt pass laws like a 25 year retirement in the state of NC for instance? Money, money, money of course but it's be nice to be around for my kids when I retire.

Well written, and well done.

Thats how things are changed, and those of us up here in Montana appreciate her effort to make a meaningful change not just for Dad, but for all of us.

Dad... you should be (as it seems you definately are) very proud of your daughter!!!  What a beautiful soul she has... most kids her age don't even think about anything like that...they're usually too worried about hanging with their friends rather than is my parent safe out there when he/she goes to work... WOW!  what an impressive letter.

WOW!!!  Bring me to tears what can I say that she has not so eloquantely said.  I agree whole heartedly with everything that your daughter said and not just because I'm a survivor of a fallen peace officer but because it is and always will be a battle on the streets of this great country for every officer and the love ones at home waiting patiently and proudly at home for their safe return.   Be proud dad you have done an awesome job!!!
