I received this email from the hiring officer of Shelbyville PD in response to becoming a reservist:

"Tyler,
It was discussed already on bringing the last group of applicants into the reserve program. It was decided that you were not what we are looking for in the reserve program. I would like to thank you for your interest.
Thank You"

well, i guess he will see me next hiring cycle... i treat this as a learning experience

Tyler, don't be discouraged. Some of my troopers had to apply and test up to four times before being accepted into the academy.

Just don't get discouraged. Learn from your mistakes and turn them into positives. Keep trying not only with that department but with as many as you can. You can get lucky and in the mean time you'll be learning more and more. Take every entrance exam that you can even if you have no intentions of joining then go back an look up the information on the tests and study it. Good luck! If I did it, you can!

Buddy take it from me the first job is the toughest with no experience. Once you get it keep a clean record and a good name for yourself and you will have a great career. Just learn from your mistakes I am in my first year as a sworn officer if ya want feel free to msg me and ask anything I am more then happy to help you out.
