| Posted over 4 years ago 0.378 BAC at 1500 Hours. He drove to the Sheriff's Office to report a crash that he had just been involved in. His talking and walking were great smelled like an alcoholic beverage. FSTs were pretty good. BAC bad. He spent the rest of the night with us. Bad stuff happens to good people, handle it and overcome.

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a guy blow a .32 three hours after he turned from the inside lane into my patrol car in the outside lane. He was trying to turn into a gas station on the other side of me and I apparently got in his way. Saw him coming at the last second and did my best to avoid it but he kept turning until he hit me. I had to wait for him to sober up enough to follow directions for the BAC. I have never enjoyed arresting someone so much in my life. Just glad it was my patrol car that got hit instead of an innocent family. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I have been retired since 1986 so it's been a long time since I was involved. In 1984 I placed a 17 year old boy in protective custody because he was having a problem standing up at a local convenience store , and he was emanating a strong odor of alcoholic beverage from his breath. At the station I gave him a test on my S&W 900-A breathalyzer. (best there was back then, manual operation required with a pr-packaged test sample at .15%) Much to my surprise he blew a .460 , and a second test of the same. I called his Father and gave him the test result and put him in his Fathers custody to take him to the Hospital and also gave the Hospital the heads up and they pumped his stomach and he made it. Six or seven days later I got a thank you note from the parents including a promise that they would keep a closer reign on the boy and his drinking from then on. Glory earned on the field of battle , can never be taken away , you take it with you to the grave. Quote by General George Armstrong Custer |

| Posted over 4 years ago I've had a couple breath tests that were .29, but my highest blood test was .34. It was a 62 yo woman at 4pm. She almost hit an off duty Trooper that was going home after work. "There is no hunting like the hunting of man.

| Posted about 4 years ago Mine was .383, sitting behind the wheel at an intersection. Had the thousand yard stare going. Had a green light, didn't proceed until the light turned red. Stopped in the left lane when I lit him up. First thing he said was "What did I do?" as he looked right thru me!!! |

| Posted about 4 years ago I was working one saturday a few months ago when I had a call come over the radio about a car driving in excess of 100 on the highway. While I was enroute to find the car dispatch advised he had turned off on another road and I found him parked in a church parking lot and it appeared that he was talking to someone in an explorer. Since I was unable to get him on the radar I just slowly drove by and i looked in my rear view and noticed that he was slamming his car door into the side of the explorer. I put it in reverse and backed up rather quick like. I pulled into the parking lot and the man jumped back into his car.... luck for me because now I had him in physical control of the vehicle. He had 4 open 40 ounce beers that were empty puke on his shirt and he had pissed his pants. To top it off there was no one even in the explorer. I asked him why he was beating his door into the car and he was so blistered he did not even remember doing that or so he said. He stated that his wife had left him and he was trying to kill his self. he blew a .30 thats my all time highest "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

| Posted about 4 years ago Arrested a guy who had tried to hit a Restaurant manager when he was caught walking out without paying his bill. Luckily he moved in slow motion, and the manager pushed him down a flight of stairs, he arrived at the bottom unhurt, but still moving in slow motion. We took him to the clinic and his BAC was .425. He was a stone alcholic. He resisted us, and tried to kick but he moved so slowly he never connected. After he sobered up at the jail, we found out that he had been on a Hotshot Forest fFire Crew. They'd been over run by the fire and he was the only survivor. He couldn't live with it. Tommy v

| Posted almost 4 years ago .28 is the highest test I have had, I know a couple that refused that were alcoholics and would have been in the high 3's or low 4's. Highest non arrest test i've heard of was .51 walking and talking. He drank 2 bottles of vodka a day!! I had a 21yo at .26 a month ago and he could hardly stand up! PL Mentoring Team Member |

| Posted over 3 years ago I never had a high BAC, had one who was loaded, but she refused and then died before went to trial. I did have a .44 IIP (Intox in Public) found her face down all twisted and contorted,,,thought she was dead. I gave her a PBT to find out what her level of intox was for rescue. And she was on her way to her car, apparently passed out on the stairs 100 yards from the parking spot |

| Posted over 3 years ago Nothing too high for me, just a 0.253 Blood... although the guy still just as dangerous as someone who is that .49... This guy crashed his car through 2 sets of cable barriers ramped in the median, got airborn, rolled, landed on its roof and blocked 3 lanes of highway... The driver was unscaved. Luckily he didnt hit anyone or kill anyone considering it was only 11pm ish and still busy on a major hwy. Being a police officer is like having a front row seat to the greatest show on earth. |

| Posted over 3 years ago Had a guy when I was in the Marine Corps as an MP in 86 who ended up with a BAC .699 by blood when he got to the hospital. He died three times on the way. But he survived, attended Top Drunk at Miramar, and returned to duty. Oh, I forgot to say he was also a MP. |
