I would have to say its the glock for me. By the time  I buy a good sig  I could have bought two glocks. I have never seen a sig take that much punishment without falling apart. I once heard of sigs president saying we can not keep up with the pprice of glock or the durability well just charge more to make people think they have a better gun cause it cost more shame on them. lets face it they want stand up to the torture of glock  without falling apart. just give me a glock..maybe sig will see the light.

I have a family of six Glocks and one Sig. I use to switch back and forth so they didn't get jealous if I showed one more attention.

S&W M&P and the Sig are fine weapons but I have a Glock 17 and 22, I'm not as rich as Shetland so I can't afford all of the extra guns.

Have a Glock 27 and Sig P229.  Glock 27 exploded in my hand.  Sig P229 still goes bang, bang bang.

If you like the Sig P229 .45 cal, take a look at the newest offering from Sig Sauer.... The Sig P227 .45 cal 10+1 double stack magazine(s) with the availability of extended 14 + 1 magazines.  It's pricey at around $993.00 to $1125.00 MSRP depending on variation but then like the saying goes...... You get what you pay for... The quality of a Sig Sauer.  As a side note:  Sig Sauer states that the P227 is designed to fit in holsters for the P220 and P226 so there is no need to buy new holsters if you already have and carry one of those already.
