Posted almost 5 years ago Listen, I have a family that is very bad, but I was not raised around them. My mother has had a case for assualt with a deadly weapon and my father has had drug cases with having it on him as well as robbery. My brother has has about 5 tresspassing cases, along with aggravated assault. Me on the other hand, have never been in trouble before, but really am trying so hard to be a cop. I went to college and graduated at the top of my class, I have never been to jail and try very hard to obey the law. I am surrounded by criminals, but I did not live with them my entire life, except for about 3 years total and I am 26. Do you think that it will affect me a lot having them as my family? Will I even get the chance to explain that I was not apart of their life? Believe me, if they were involved in any crime I would surely take them to jail with holding back. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I thought you had already came in and asked this question. Anyway I think the answer you got was no, if you've not been in trouble, your families trouble should not effect you. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Your questions are starting to add up to = NO LEO JOB. Past credit problems, past citations, and now a family full of criminals. Anything else in the closet? Your background investigator may also start wondering whats waiting behind the next door he opens. Maybe you should just throw all of your questions in the basket on a single thread. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, then it may be a troll doing an impression of a duck. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago This is a good oppurtunity for TexasCop705 to see: This guy has every problem known to man and has posted each of themin a different thread. This is growing weary but I will refrain from taking the usual course of action in your honor TX.

Where's Farva the cola king. He needs to come help kick this one square in the butt. I'll hold the new guy, you make him hard to hold. | Posted almost 5 years ago ok I can't hold it in TexasCop705 sorry dude I tried.
anewme4u perhaps PL isn't th place for you, you might try Dr. Phil, or Maury. You have a veritible plethora of family baggage and what you need is a psychyatrist not a COP. Good luck buddy. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Why are you waving their issues around? If you want to be a cop, just be one! Put down your family sign and decide what you want to be known for. Stop linking yourself to them, if your claims of honor are true... just move on and wonder about something else. |

You would need to ask these questions of the departments you are planning to apply to since most departments use different guide lines, and if you believe the sarcasm here was cruel, I would suggest that you never become a police officer because you sound like a bit of a Nancy Boy. |

With all that experience in NOT getting in trouble, I should think that you are a shoe in as the head of internal investigations! Too many youngsters get their hands on firearms without proper supervision. Keep your guns secure from ALL unauthorized persons! Lets stop burying children - PLEASE (jal.fast@yahoo.com) |

Nancy Boy...LMFAO! You kill me Brandy! I haven't heard that in years....funny AND accurate in this case....perhaps anewme4u should consider a nickname change! If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I believe that a person raised up in a 'bad environment' CAN live 'in' the environment and not be 'of' that environment. I believe in giving every prospective law enforcement officer a chance to prove what they are made of. anewme4u, I want to encourage you to keep up your good work and do not be discouraged if you are looked down upon on account of your family background at first (you cannot help it if your family made bad decisions). Just prove the doubters wrong by being the best you can be. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Ok, some of you guys are so right. I need to forget about what they did and focus on what I am doing. By the way I a female. My relative is a Senator and I grew up in a 3 story home and it was right next to the ocean side. My uncle is a million dollar contractor, therefore I do not come from a deprived family at all. I did not live with my mother and father, but I had a great life growing up as a child. The fact is that I am on here asking question, just so that I could get some strong feedback from my peers, but I am not on here to be made fun of. I have no hard feeling, but I am shocked to see a bunch of adult behavinf in this childess manor. I may as well go on disney. com and ask some youger children and it will be proven to get better feedback. This is not directed towards most of you, but it is towards these children with the negative comments................................................................. |

Now THIS is why you do not have a snowballs chance of getting hired or if you did because of a quota demanding more females you still would not last. You are so arrogant and it looks like the sole reason you want to become a cop it to wave it in your families face. You say your Uncle is a millionaire and relative is a Senator! Didn't seem to stop them did it? Now I haven't seen these other posts but they also seem to be some serious baggage and sweetheart, if the part of your family is so damn rich why are you in trouble financially? No, you are an arrogant little brat who has a personal axe to grind but not an honorable one. Add that to going off on senior officers in this manner and you have zero chances. |

I agree with Robo 100%...besides your arrogant comments you prove that you don't have what it takes (at least mentally) to be an LEO. If you think the comments on this forum are a bit childish, take a tour of a maximum facility prison for a day; after all, that is who you are going to be dealing with and have to put cuffs on. If you can get over yourself then maybe you might become a good LEO...in the mean time I would simply say "run along now Daddy's girl, we wont miss you." |

| Posted almost 5 years ago One bad apple truly does spoil the whole bunch if you don't do something to get rid of the bad one. However, you should not be held accountable for what other people in your family do or did. Let your actions speak for you. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago The ignorance just keeps coming. How about you tell me about your past. For all I know you could be a child predator. Anyway, this is pointless going back and forth with you. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I have read every single post in this thread and that final comment about being a child preditor is absolutely rediculous, childish, and so disrespectful that if anyone found out where you were applying to would show that supervisor this thread and have you dismissed. as for being a child preditor these are the finest senior LEO's in the country and their advice should be heeded and respected. wash your hands of this foolish whim of becoming a cop because of the attitude you project. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago Sorry, forgot to add something. English must not be your strong suit. If you even bother to try to apply to be an LEO somewhere, good spelling skills and excellent writing ability are generally required assets. Why? Because you must be able to write reports that will reflect your professionalism and honor the representation of your department; and you need to be able to accurately report conversations held, convey the entire sequence of events and /or detailed aspects of the scenes which you would encounter in emergency responses, felony stops, arrests, interrogations, etc. So if you even think about becoming an LEO, go take remedial spelling and writing courses before you apply, perhaps even reading comprehension courses as well. |
