I think if and when Israel hits Iran and it's nuke sites and it is going to happen soon, we will see the sleeper cells within the US and around the world wake up and start doing the missions assigned to them when they were planted. Our hope is that many of them will have changed their minds of us and nolonger feel we are "the great satan" and have come to love America and will not do what they were assigned to do. Pray that many  if not all have changed in their way of thinking. The newest and youngest will be the hardcore and the ones to act. GOD Bless America and GOD Please Help America!!!!!

I think the next attack will be in in a place we think to be very safe or well protected  Fear is the goal not casualties.

Absolutely correct!  As one studies the militant Muslim playbook, this becomes very clear.  Jihad is as much about demoralizing your enemy as it is killing him.  This is one of the reasons I am concerned about a Beslan-type scenario.

It would seem that America is very vulnerable right now when it comes to money. An attack designed to cripple us economically would be devastating.

The next significant terrorist attack on US soil will most likely be on a large scale but not in the way most would think. The theory behind terror is to instill fear and demoralize your enemy. Symbolic targets are of high importance (FEMA established 13 criteria for likely targets back in the '90s, the WTC qualified for 11 of them if I recall correctly) to these groups. However, they also wish to achieve a high probability of success. The preservation of some or all of their participants would also be favorable. For one thing, a dead body (or parts thereof) has a history and can be tracked back to the organization. I believe we are less likely to see more suicide-type attacks here, although I certainly would never rule them out.

The next attack may be simultanious (or sequenced) strikes on "soft targets" that do not have a large police, military or security presence. Likely targets include but are not limited to:

Major shopping malls

Airports (check-in areas prior to security checks)

Movie and live theatres

Music concerts/sports events (although by their nature there is an enhanced police presence at these events)

Public areas with a high concentration of pedestrian traffic

Some of these targets also meet several of the qualifing characteristics of terror targets so they may be very inviting. But who knows. Anything can happen and since we are dealing with more than one group, they might all be working towards entirely different target goals. If you see something suspicious, report it. It doesn't have to be the Sears Tower or the Lincoln Tunnel to be a target.

Richie Daley has already taken measures to prevent this. Who's going to attack something he's dubbed "The Big Willy"?

All kidding aside, unless someone invents the ultimate "be reasonable" drug, we will most likely be getting trained by Israel on how to deal with this threat.

There are a lot of lessons we could learn from the Israelis. But it is sad to think about living on alert all the time. Children in Israel are taught to never kick a can on the street as it could be wired. They are taught what to do when there is an unattended bag on the street. You have to clear a metal detector to get into a market. I just think we are too spoiled in this country when it comes to security but it is sad that we are almost to that point.

Not that it necessarily means there's going to be another attack, but 10-12-2010 is the 10th anniversary of the bombing of the USS Cole in the Yemeni port of Aden.

I saw some stuff that mentioned that date, but most of it was related to "end times prophecy."  And of course the only way to know if a prophet is correct is to see if their predictions come true.  So, when I saw it I took it with a rather large grain of salt (actually a 33 pound cattle block).  Hard intel including dates just doesn't get slung around in public, it is kept safely hidden, and while speculation is fun, it is seldom profitable. Or prophetable.

Looking at the attacks on the schools in Chechnia, and other places in the Balkans, that's not a far out idea.

LOS ANGELES, CA  - "What I am trying to do in this interview is to make people aware of the fact that the threat is real, the threat is different, the threat is constant," he said. Holder shared many frightening facts about domestic terrorism, something that has retreated into the shadows after 9/11. Holder is most concerned about the alarming rise in the number of Americans who are more than willing to attack and kill their fellow citizens. "It is one of the things that keeps me up at night," Holder said. "You didn't worry about this even two years ago -- about individuals, about Americans, to the extent that we now do. And -- that is of -- of great concern. "The threat has changed from simply worrying about foreigners coming here, to worrying about people in the United States, American citizens -- raised here, born here, and who for whatever reason, have decided that they are going to become radicalized and take up arms against the nation in which they were born," he said. Holder pointed out that in the past two years, that of the 126 people have been indicted on terrorist-related charges, 50 of those people are American citizens. "I think that what is most alarming to me is the totality of what we see, the attorney general said. "Whether it is an attempt to bomb the New York City subway system, an attempt to bring down an airplane over Detroit, an attempt to set off a bomb in Times Square ... I think that gives us a sense of the breadth of the challenges that we face, and the kinds of things that our enemy is trying to do." Holder says that many current domestic terrorists share a link to radical cleric Anwar Al Awlaki, an American citizen himself. Authorities suspect Awlaki helped plan last year's Christmas Day underwear bombing plot in Detroit, and a recent scheme to blow up cargo planes travelling from Yemen to Europe and the United States. "He's an extremely dangerous man. He has shown a desire to harm the United States, a desire to strike the homeland of the United States," Holder said. "He is a person who -- as an American citizen -- is familiar with this country and he brings a dimension, because of that American familiarity, that others do not. "He would be on the same list with bin Laden," the attorney general said. "He's up there. I don't know whether he's one, two, three, four -- I don't know. But he's certainly on the list of the people who worry me the most." Awlaki is now believed to be residing in Yemen, but thanks to the Internet, his reach is global, and his influence dangerous. Authorities say his teachings and writings have been discovered on the computers of a number of radicals who have tried to carry out terror plots here in America. Holder said Awlaki is able to preach violence on al Qaeda Web sites, and reach new converts. "The ability to go into your basement, turn on your computer, find a site that has this kind of hatred spewed ... they have an ability to take somebody who is perhaps just interested, perhaps just on the edge, and take them over to the other side," he said.

NYC remains the prime target for attack. And it's no secret that al Qeada is actively recruiting home grown terrorists. It's about time that we call the governments in Yemen and Saudi Arabia out for their participation in terrorist activities. They may not be actively involved, but they certainly not engaged in sincere anti-terrorist action.

after watching certain newsworthy security items on the various cable channels and on line i personally have gone on RED ALERT TILL FURTHER NOTICE. the warwagon is loaded, and i am taking this very serious, watched the vp of the us on the news balk at speaking the truth in  favor of not alerting the general public and maybe the trip to grandmas isnt such a good idea>>

and if you really think the national security director did not understand?? he misunderstood and thought a secret security threat had been released and thus the dumb look. he knew about the uk arrests but he thought the interviewer was referring to another-not as yet released-incident.
