I think the next attack will come, terrorist love the big headline.  I think the attack will be on something symbolic, it does not have to be a symbol of our country, such as a monument, but more so a symbol of our lifestyle or ideals and way of life.  More than likly in some big city.  If I could tell you the exact place, they would change the target.

Me, too.  I do believe that it will be something like the World Series or Super Bowl.  How much more lifestyle symbolism could there be?  Also, a lot of people.

Middle East is getting all our money for oil and China is buying up all of our debt. The two of them are neighbors. If they can't beat our military they will make it so we can't afford to have one. Think about it.

  Wall Street , Oil Speculators are killing us. As stated the economy is going down hill, only thing left to complete the job is having the LEFT person elected as President who wants to TALK TO TERRORISTS.  (problem is they don't talk with words, they live to DIE for ALAH).

if you want to see terrorist activity look at Europe and Israel. They have bombs going off in buses, crowded restuarants etc. That is their bread and butter. I dont think we will ever see another 911. The threat will be delivered t the heartland in the form of bombs and shootings in crowded areas.

Biden: Obama Will be 'Tested' by World in First 6 Months of Administration

Barack Obama will face an international crisis early in his presidency, Joe Biden warns, fueling Republican charges that the Democratic presidential candidate's own running mate admits Obama is a blank slate in the face of coming national security threats.

Speaking in Seattle on Sunday, Biden said he could guarantee that the world will want to find out if Obama is up to the job, which he assured voters he is.

"Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking," Biden said.

"Remember I said it standing here. if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he's gonna have to make some really tough -- I don't know what the decision's gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it's gonna happen," Biden continued.

The Delaware senator's remarks were the second of their kind over the weekend. At a fundraiser in San Francisco, Biden said Obama's challengers will "find out this guy's got steel in his spine" whenhe is tested.

The McCain campaign jumped on Biden's remarks, saying the next president "won't have time to get used to the office."

"Just last night, Senator Biden guaranteed that if Senator Obama is elected, we will have an international crisis to test America's new president," reads a memo from the McCain campaign. "We don't want a president who invites testing from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting in two wars. ...

"Senator Obama wont have the right response, and we know that because we've seen the wrong response from him over and over during this campaign. ... We cannot spend the next four years as we have spent much of the last eight: hoping for our luck to change at home and abroad. We have to act. We need a new direction, and we have to fight for it," the statement said.

During a McCain campaign press conference on Monday, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani also weighed in on the Democratic vice presidential candidate's remarks, saying they reveal that "Biden continues to harbor doubts that Obama is ready to be commander-in-chief."

But Democratic aides said that Biden was merely reciting history and assuring supporters that Obama is the man for the job.

"Sen. Biden was making it clear that history has shown presidents face challenges starting on day one, and with our nation fighting two wars and 21st century threats abroad, we know that we need steady leadership in tumultuous times, not the erratic lurching and stubborn ideology of John McCain," said Biden spokesman David Wade

Democratic strategist and pollster Doug Schoen said Biden's comments are "probably an uncomfortable truth, certainly not what you want as a Democratic strategist for your vice presidential candidate to say....

"But he probably is going to be tested and he hasn't had experience and I'd like to think he'll be up to the task with whatever we face, but politics is about making choices. But the question is given the failures of the Bush administration ... do we want to go in that direction or do we want to go in a different direction?" Schoen asked.

July 4, 2009 is close enough to that 6-month time frame...

The fact that we have not had an attack here since 9/11 is a direct result of the hard work and diligence of our law enforcement and military.  However, a new administration and congress who proclaims "change" and will shift the focus of goverment from proctecting it's citizens to creating a welfare state will make another terrorist attack almost certain.  Most Americans have long since forgotten about 9/11 and don't even have a clue (or care) that another attack willhappen again. 

I would guess that the next attack would be both symbolic and attack the financial sector or power grids.  Wall Street, oil refineries, power plants, etc. all seem likely targets.

there is a timeline of the stages a democracy goes through before its collapse........sadly we r in one of the latter stages. the people we r fighting are largely responsible. and so are a lot of people in this country. has anyone else noticed, the more we try to take God out of this country, the more evil enters it and the more we decline...........

I think this is an outstanding topic but am not sure that some responses/discussions are appropriate for non-LEO's. This is pretty sensitive stuff. So, i have created an LEO forum for a topic similar to this. Please search for "Domestic Terrorism" if you would like to see what i have to say about this topic and if you would like to comment more in depth knowing its only LEO's that can see it. Thanks.

Personally, I don't see what has been discussed so as being anything 'secret'.  These have all been discussed at some point in the media.  If there is something 'for LEO eyes only', I doubt those should be put out on any forum.  Just my non-LEO opinion.

I agree that we are currently under attack financially.  As far as future attacks go, the scariest one to me is an EMP attack, and Iran has already tested the missile launch and delivery technology successfully.  No electrical infrastructure (that means no cold food storage, and no medical equipment working), no communications ( includes all phone lines, radios, and cellular) , no transportation (including transportation of food stuffs), and people will be ready to turn on each other in a short time. 

I know it may sound crazy, but I'd rather have a dirty bomb or a biological attack.  Easier to deal with, smaller area of effect, and quicker recovery.

 

I agree with ccso8462. I'm afraid of an EMP attack. No electrical power!!! Anything thats electronic will not function. Just think of how many items run on electricity of some form....just about EVERYTHING!!!  The only thing that would function are wind up clocks and wind up watches.  Imagine, the aftermath of Katrina but on a larger scale. People will be acting like the zombies in the movie I am Legend. Everyman for themselves. SCARY Thought.

everything is symbolic to these guys. Ever listen to Osama's speeches? He talks about stuff like the wind in the desert blah blah. Trouble is we, as a culture and a discipline ( read le) dont bother to listen and then analyze what is meaningful to them. So when it happens its like shock for us. Remember "know your enemy" we really dont know our enemy and the people throwing in with them.
