| Posted about 1 year ago I think the next attack will come, terrorist love the big headline. I think the attack will be on something symbolic, it does not have to be a symbol of our country, such as a monument, but more so a symbol of our lifestyle or ideals and way of life. More than likly in some big city. If I could tell you the exact place, they would change the target. Honor The Fallen

| Posted about 1 year ago I belive the next target will be on a larger scale, that is; a larger impact on the US as a whole. Power grids (nuke reactors), refineries, storage facilities. By now, thanks to our liberal media trying for the fear "ratings", terrorist have been shown every weak link, vulnrable site and told how a terror strike would cripple this nation. Terrorist have seen how inept the Feds are in responding to one disaster involving (any one remember a little storm called Katrina?) thousands upon thousands of folks. Now multiply that times 4 or 5 or more strikes in unison involving seperate areas and/or across several states with no power, fuel and contamination. This country would tear it's self apart in days if not in hours. We may, in our life time, see the day when this country will be ruled by iron sights. Kinda makes ya warm and fuzzy, don't it? |

Me, too. I do believe that it will be something like the World Series or Super Bowl. How much more lifestyle symbolism could there be? Also, a lot of people. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Middle East is getting all our money for oil and China is buying up all of our debt. The two of them are neighbors. If they can't beat our military they will make it so we can't afford to have one. Think about it. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

Wall Street , Oil Speculators are killing us. As stated the economy is going down hill, only thing left to complete the job is having the LEFT person elected as President who wants to TALK TO TERRORISTS. (problem is they don't talk with words, they live to DIE for ALAH). Glory earned on the field of battle , can never be taken away , you take it with you to the grave. | Posted about 1 year ago first, al-queda likes to go back and finish the job if they missed on the first attempt. i'd still look for an attack on white house, flight 93's probable target. a hit at petroleum city in texas would cripple us for a while, and i'm certainly not letting the cat out of the bag on this, though i write this with my breath held, but, does the words FORCE PROTECTION mean anything to anyone..can you imagine the effect a successful terrorist attack would be on say an area outside bragg or centcom in tampa? i think this form of attack would probably have the worse effect on our combat troops serving. |

| Posted about 1 year ago if you want to see terrorist activity look at Europe and Israel. They have bombs going off in buses, crowded restuarants etc. That is their bread and butter. I dont think we will ever see another 911. The threat will be delivered t the heartland in the form of bombs and shootings in crowded areas. In honor of 58,044 brothers who never returned from Viet Nam

| Posted about 1 year ago Next attack will be somewhere symbolic and where we are not looking. That could be many places, schools, churches etc. Until we close the border down south and up norht and make it VERY difficult to get thru for the bad guys it is a matter of when. Certified wiseacre. Proudly serving since 1986.

Symbolic for two reasons!!!

| Posted about 1 year ago I agree that we are currently under attack financially. As far as future attacks go, the scariest one to me is an EMP attack, and Iran has already tested the missile launch and delivery technology successfully. No electrical infrastructure (that means no cold food storage, and no medical equipment working), no communications ( includes all phone lines, radios, and cellular) , no transportation (including transportation of food stuffs), and people will be ready to turn on each other in a short time. I know it may sound crazy, but I'd rather have a dirty bomb or a biological attack. Easier to deal with, smaller area of effect, and quicker recovery. July 4, '09 sound right for any action. DC would be a strike to the seat of federal government. Probably fairly easy to recover, and might actually clean out the rat's nest there. A Beslan-type attack would be a devastating strike to the morale of the country. And we know from intelligence reports that they have cased schools and school buses. Good possibility. Probably in the heartland, where emergency services are not immediately at hand. We also know that thefts of ambulances and other emergency equipment and uniforms/ID's have gone way up the last few years, so I fully expect a secondary hit on the first responders. Let's watch our sixes, folks. BTW, none of this is sensitive info, it's all out there in public view. Go out today and preach the gospel, and if you must, use words. St. Francis of Assisi |

| Posted about 1 year ago The fact that we have not had an attack here since 9/11 is a direct result of the hard work and diligence of our law enforcement and military. However, a new administration and congress who proclaims "change" and will shift the focus of goverment from proctecting it's citizens to creating a welfare state will make another terrorist attack almost certain. Most Americans have long since forgotten about 9/11 and don't even have a clue (or care) that another attack willhappen again. I would guess that the next attack would be both symbolic and attack the financial sector or power grids. Wall Street, oil refineries, power plants, etc. all seem likely targets.

I am most concerned with a Beslan style attack on a school like we saw in Russia. This would have a great impact only rivaled by a dirty bomb or nuke attack and would be fairly easy to execute. I have read various reports on the beslan massacre and been to briefings . If you dont remmeber beslan is a small town were Muslim terrorist took over an elementary school and kept the children and adults in a gym booby trapped with IED’s they even rape young children and then before Russian spetsnaz troops could rescue them 335 were killed.

| Posted about 1 year ago there is a timeline of the stages a democracy goes through before its collapse........sadly we r in one of the latter stages. the people we r fighting are largely responsible. and so are a lot of people in this country. has anyone else noticed, the more we try to take God out of this country, the more evil enters it and the more we decline........... |

| Posted about 1 year ago I think this is an outstanding topic but am not sure that some responses/discussions are appropriate for non-LEO's. This is pretty sensitive stuff. So, i have created an LEO forum for a topic similar to this. Please search for "Domestic Terrorism" if you would like to see what i have to say about this topic and if you would like to comment more in depth knowing its only LEO's that can see it. Thanks. Personally, I don't see what has been discussed so as being anything 'secret'. These have all been discussed at some point in the media. If there is something 'for LEO eyes only', I doubt those should be put out on any forum. Just my non-LEO opinion. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Well, we've somewhat hardened many of our major financial buildings, so I think they will move on to easier targets. Unfortunately, I have to agree that the power grid and/or refineries are at risk. Security is a 'joke' there, relative to the risk. Nothing that hasn't been said on CNN though.... However, I have to say that the law enforcement community appears to be doing a great job thwarting many attempts so far. For all the infighting and bickering between various agencies (Homeland Security etc), we've made it much more difficult for them to attack. We all know there are several dormant cells within our borders, but they must constantly weigh the cost benefit of an attack. Say what you will about Bush, but his immediate and devastating retaliation in Afghanistan probably makes every terrorist group stop and think 'ok, is this plan worth the price we'll end up paying?' Now, that doesn't mean they won't try something - it's just that they're probably waiting for a BIG idea to make it worth it. Personally, I fear a 'dirty bomb' in Chicago, NYC, or Houston.

| Posted 11 months ago It need not be James Bondlike....all you have to do is look at current terrorist trends in thew world right now. You have Beslan, you have Mumbai, you have TTPs from the Insurgencies in Iraq and Afghanistan, and you have TTPs from operations in western Europe such as what happened in Spain. If I were to make a guess based on current TTPs, I would say we are looking at something involving school hostage situations, bombs in public places (VBIEDs, IEDs, suicide bombers), landmark destruction. The real issue is that LE, being strongly decentralized in the USA, is not prepared. If mumbai or Beslan were to happen in the USA....we have to understand, the initial response will be a police response...not military, and not FBI. The local PDs will be tasked with handling it, unless they dont...and the initial response is the ONLY response when it comes to terrorism. If you dont put it down quickly, the terrorists win. Even if its nothing more than a psychological (information warfare) victory and everything turns out right. Does every cruiser have a patrol rifle and protective ballistic headgear? Does every officer or deputy have the proper training to counter at least an active shooter incident (what the military calls "movement to contact")? Does every department have at least an on call SRT that is trained in response to hostage rescue scenarios? I could go on and on. But we are simply not prepared in general. Make no mistake people, they are watching when some mental patient off his meds shoots up a university or school. They are watching when someone kills 2 cops with merely a pipe bomb. They know about gaps on the borders. They know how to convert AKs to fully automatic. On and on. Be ready. |

| Posted 11 months ago everything is symbolic to these guys. Ever listen to Osama's speeches? He talks about stuff like the wind in the desert blah blah. Trouble is we, as a culture and a discipline ( read le) dont bother to listen and then analyze what is meaningful to them. So when it happens its like shock for us. Remember "know your enemy" we really dont know our enemy and the people throwing in with them. In honor of 58,044 brothers who never returned from Viet Nam
