I escaped an abusive relationship in 1998. In 1999, possibly 2000, I saw an article in the Fort Worth Star Telegram about a woman who was found in Lake Ray Hubbard that had been badly beaten. I need to find out if she was identified and if they know who committed the murder. I wonder because when I read about it my first thought was that could have been me. you see the man that abused me used to take me to Lake Ray Hubbard, he never beat me there, but he would get me in the water and dunk me, he would get pretty rough. So much so that the third time he took me out there I would not get out of the Jeep. He moved me East Texas, to isolate me from friends and family, like abusers do. I finally got away but not before her fractured my face in two places. He finally went to trial, in 2004. He recieved 3 years probation, deferred adjudication. they slapped his hand. They should have used the fist, it was his weapon of choice. Anyway, if that murder is unsolved, I really believe someone should take a look at this scumbag. How can I find out whatever happened?

I don't know which city and/ or county Lake Ray Hubbard is in. I tried to contact the detective in Mesquite who helped me file the assault charges I filed in 1998. I was hoping he would tell me where to start since so many years have past. I have not recieved a call back.

Lake Ray Hubbard is near Forney, Texas. If you contact the Forney PD, located at 100 East Aimee St in Forney, or call them at (972) 552-3932, they'll likely be best to handle your call, or they can at least direct you to the proper jurisdiction.

Good luck - let us know on here what happens, OK? (people care, even if tey've never met you)

I live in fort worth tx and no they haven't said her name they say she is Hispanic or white that's all.FORT WORTH, Texas -- Arlington police now say the woman found in Lake Arlington last weekend was slain.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was found badly decomposed early Sunday morning by a fisherman.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner said womans body had obvious signs of trauma.

In an attempt to learn the woman's identity, the Arlington Police Department released the following information: The body is believed to be that of a white or Hispanic woman about 16 to 21 years old, about 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall with a medium to heavy build and medium-length brown hair. She was wearing gray sweatpants and yellow underwear with a graphic image of a chicken that reads "Chicks Rule."

The woman was also wearing a black string necklace with a black crucifix.

"We need to know who she is so we can learn what happened to her and how she died," said Sgt. Kraig Fryer, of the Arlington Police Department. "Somewhere out there, there are family members and friends looking for this young woman. Now that we know she was murdered, we need to find the person responsible for this crime."

The woman also had an overbite with two protruding upper front teeth, officials said.

Investigators have not yet revealed the woman's cause of death.

Lake Ray Hubbard is in the city Rockwall, which is also the county of Rockwall. However, Lake Ray Hubbard itself belongs under the jurisdiction of Dallas Police Dept.
