Posted over 2 years ago I just saw a training film on the AA12 and would love to have that! Fully auto 20 round 12 ga that has no recoil! Of course that is just a dream. I like to good old Remington 870 Wingmaster W 18" BBL. They are rugged and dependable. Easy to clear if they ever jam, and the sound of an Officer racking a round causes the suspects blood to turn to ice and they do not move! LOL

Posted over 2 years ago Remington 870, 18" bbl, extended magazine, black choate stock with pistol grip, rifled barrel for use with bean bag and slugs. Very dependable and easy to train with. Also have used a Smith & Wesson 3000 which is real similar to the 870 and while on SWAT a Remington 1100 semi auto 12ga. Believe the shotgun to still be most versatile police weapon with such a wide range of ammo for it, from slugs to bean bag, OC ferret rounds, breaching rounds, etc

Posted over 2 years ago 870 BOOMSTICK....... Ladyblue, I love ya, but that wayof thinking will straight up get you killed when the music starts playing! Please get your mind right ASAP! This kind of thinking is exactly whats wrong with Law enforcement these days. If that thing is in your trunk unloaded when you need it and have time to retrieve it, your in a world of hurt! Your ass will pucker and slam shut like two steal doors! Taking a shotgun to a gun fight is like taking a chainsaw to a knife fight! He who makes the biggest boom and is most prepared, WINS! I never leave the station withour being loaded for bear and ready to go, if it is not needed, then so beit, if it is. Nothing says OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS to a shithead like the sound of the boom from a shotgun. Have your minds right and Stay Safe Warriors! Stay Safe Warriors! Ed O'Shea

Posted over 2 years ago nothing like a street howitzer 870 loaded and armed to tilt. Only a few select officers carry m16 but all have the shotgun and it should be used more. Have the right mind set that says if im going to a shoot out im going with a howitzer 870 as i like to call it. He who has the bigger bang usually wins the fight( Art Of War) and many other warrior will tell u the same thing. Use it when u can and have extra ammo to reload in a gun fight. Hit them hard and fast and they will never no what hit them....oooraaah

Posted over 2 years ago The best Shotgun for patrol use is of course the Remington 870. It is simple to use and a very reliable firearm. Loaded with 00 buck and a side saddle mount to carry slug rounds for those shots outside of fifteen yards it is a very effective tool. Just remember to ensure the officers qualify on the firearm out to at least seventy five yards.

Posted over 2 years ago Forgive me for posting in "ask an oficer" as I'm not certified yet, but I just had this conversation with a friend of mine from the academy. His Dept. only carries AR's, no shotguns. I've shot a few different boomsticks, but I prefer the 870.

Posted over 2 years ago I am currently completing range training in my academy and have to say the Rem 870 is awesome. I would rather pull the shotgun than a pistol. I hunt with a Mossberg 500 and it is very smooth and consistent, also.

My Charles Daily 20 gauge kicks A LOT harder than this thing. There no reason not to show love for this weapon Don't forget... the toes you step on today might be attached to the ass you'll be kissing tomorrow! |

Posted over 2 years ago Rem 870 express. We have had Mossbergs, and Berettas . The 870 is the easiest to use for most when it comes to pucker factor time. Semi Beretta is smooth and fun to shoot.

| Posted over 2 years ago First time I've seen anyone post 870 Express except me. Got one behind the bedroom door, 20 gauge though. Duty wise, I never trained with, carried or use anything other than the 870 with 00. My Dad had an 1100 semi auto and I loved that gun, but it seemed a bit to wieldy for a duty weapon. to barrel heavy. His had, however, a barrel that seemed no less than 99 inches with a full choke. You were feelin it with 3" mags. The 870 though is a simple, proven combat shotgun. I like mine simple with no frills. AND if you run out of shells, it makes one hell of a club. Stay Safe. 'Tis better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Posted over 2 years ago Wouldn't it be nice if they made a holster so you could carry a shotgun right on your hip? I bet just the sight of a cop walking around with a shotgun on his hip would deter a whole hell of a lot of crime.
