Posted about 5 years ago This was just a question that had been brought up to a group that I am in. Is the military using more fuel efficiant vehicles now? |

| Posted almost 5 years ago They tried to field a re-engined hybrid HEMTT (a type of tactical all-terrain transport truck) in Germany last year. It was impressive because it got something like 7 miles to the gallon! I'm not sure how the vehicle worked out, but if the army isn't committed to it heart and mind, they are at least paying lip service to the concept. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I think it`s amusing. The UK are looking at "Greener" tanks................so the tube at the back emits Eco friendlier emmisions, whilst the tube at the front delivers death and destruction. lol Utrinque Paratus |

The last I heard, the Army is primarily running JP-8 instead of diesel in many vehicles in the field. |

No, but we are dropping enviornmentally friendly bombs. They don't spread body parts and other bio waste as far. My last patrol car at the Navy Base in MS was a flex fuel Tahoe. I could probably shove a whole bunch of corn in the tank and drive around. I just never tried. If I have offended anyone, so be it. |
