Because the punishment for juveniles is more lenient than the adults and a juveniles record is confidential, for the most part. I'm sure they are getting paid too.

PAID! Oh some of them are.... A little while ago I was at a birthday party I watched these kids that couldn’t be any older than 5th graders steal 5 bikes give them to some adults, the adults paid them and they ran off... Not even 30 mins later I saw these kids selling drugs for this same group of people. (Yes I reported it)

The "adults" in the situation often take advantage of knowing just a little more than their underage cohorts.
There is a mega buck market in the school yards...

Juv taking the rap, holding the dope etc has been occurring for decades. It started with the first street gangs of homeless kids in the early 1900's.

Our juvenile officer likes to certify them as an adult.

It's not just kids. In the heirarchy of the drug trade, the lowest turd is usually holding the product. There are others who operate as enforcers, with weapons stored nearby. This leaves the king turd without the product, without a weapon and without good articulation and/or surveillance, plausible deniability. Check out the rap star 50 cent, he got busted years ago with his girlfriend holding.

sad...huh....that "adults" are the problem.,,,
I have a family member tangled up in this mess,(young man),,,his parents fighting for his life on a daily basis .....
recently a massive overdose put him in the hospital,,in which case dad tore up the house looking (always vigilant not even having cold medicine in the house),,,,and found a brought from school adult "friends jacket" pockets empty,,,
with pills sewed in the lining ....to a count of over 100.....,,,
law has got it now,,,
but I pitty the fool if dad finds him first......
