I was just wondering what everyone else is getting paid a hour.  Start pay and then step pay.  If you could list your city/town and state

I think starting dispatchers here make minimum wage, then they start you at 9.13 /hr after you are trained. Very low pay. Holmes County Sheriff's Office, Bonifay, FL

The following pay rates are only for 2008-2009 for Telecommunicators.  They will all change next year after a Cost of Living increase.

Starting pay is $19.43 ($40,406)

then Step 2 $20.57 ($42,783)

Step 3 $21.71 ($45,159)

Step 4 $22.85 ($47,536)

Step 5 $24.00 ($49,913)

Step 6 $25.14 ($52,290)

Step 7 26.28 ($54,667)

Step 8 $27.42 ($57,044)

My rate is different since I am a Supervisor, but I am at Step 6 on the Supervisor step rate which is currently $31.10 (64,682)

This is for TriCom Central Dispatch; dispatching for St Charles, Geneva, Batavia and Elburn Illinois.  And we should be hiring one posisiton in the next 2 months or so.

I dont know all the steps but i was hired at $15.77 and we get a step raise every 6 months. After 2 1/2 years you reach top step which is currently $20.01, that should change soon as we are in contract negotiation. I work for Danvers MA combined police and fire dispatch.

My office is probably the lowest paid anywhere in the country.  When I started the starting pay was $6.00 an hour.  I already had CJIN ceritifcation, and 911 school, I started at 6.25 I think.  I have been there 9 years in November and I make 10.45 an hour.  I also get .50 more for being the training officer.  New dispatchers start at 7.50 an hour.  There are raises for 6 months, 911 school, and CJIN certification.  We're trying to get wages up but it's a never ending battle.  I work at the Musselshell County Dispatch/SO in Roundup, Montana

Im pretty sure new dispatchers start at about $27,000 a year and can get up to 34,000.  Then we get a 5% raise every year that you are employed here. I work and Navajo County SO in Holbrook AZ.

Craven County NC....Starting apprx $26,000/year....add 2.4% for a one step increase and 4.8% for a two step (or promotion)

Average yearly COLI is 3-4 % (we're getting 4% this year)

As a civillian equivalent of Sgt this year I'm making a little over $31,000 this year (I started at $18,900 in 1997).

Pizza Hut managers in our area make around $35k-$40k a year...no wonder we are having so much trouble hiring people!

Starting pay, $8.50 then a .50 raise after the initial in-house training program and completion of Query certification (8-12 weeks).  After they attend TBI's 40 hour class and complete the Basic certification, .50 more (classes are so full it is averaging taking 6 months to get them in).  So basically, $9.50 after six months. After that, it is a 3% cost of living every year on their hire date.

Sequatchie County, TN

Wow I'm jealous.  A lot of you make more than I make as a Patrolman III in a city with the highest violent crime rate per capita in Arkansas.  Our dispatchers start at $8.90 I think and there are no set raises or increases.

Everyone has different ways they get paid, so since you want to get technical and not pull out your calculator State of Florida we get paid once a month and then a week later we get our OT checks. Every month I get 2575.73. If you want to figure it out weekly be my guess, 2575.73 / 4 will give you what I get weekly

I enjoyed reading the various responses .... I was suprised at the range.

I work for Windsor Police Service - Windsor, Ontario, Canada

We have a population of just over 200,000, we are border city across the river from Detroit Michigan.

We get $28/hour, plus very small shift pay (.40-.70/hr)

When we get called in to work overtime we get 4/hr call in or change of shift plus double time, so on a 10hr shift we would recieve 24hrs pay.  If we choose to extend our shift then we don't get the 4hr change of shift and we just get time & a half.

Our dispathers & calltakers get paid the same, we rotate back & forth.  We nornally have 6-7 people per shift which consists of a civillian supervisor, 2 dispatchers and 3-4 calltakers
