Posted over 5 years ago The forum is not being restricted, the topic is. The problem being addressed is is that forum shares its name with a topic in the forum. In addition, the current Ask a Dispatcher thread is a mess. It is a collection of unrelated, off topic posts. That happened because it was moved into the new forum from somewhere else, and already had content. The solution to the first problem is to restrict the topic. By doing that, anyone who wants to ask a specific question has a place to post it, and anyone who is answering questions knows where to look for them. This way the Ask a Dispatcher topic is the umbrella for questions. Otherwise it would require reading through pages and pages of posts trying to find questions needing answers. There is no issue with other posts, as long as they use a topic relevant to the thread being started. The goal is to provide added-value to the telecommunicator members of PoliceLink by adding a resource, not by restricting one. |

| Posted over 5 years ago Michael, Is there a way for them to switch to a different format where you have the "Ask a Dispatcher Forum" and within the forum you have the different topics that people could go through, and searchif they wanted to? Jon |
