Hello, I am the son of P/O Edward Sherman. I am trying to locate P/O Dale Snyder, Ret. He served with my father before he died on patrol Sept 13th, 1975. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

May I post this on my police memorial? One of my Assistants used to be with Baltimore, and her father is still with them...

Greetings everyone,

I have finally established contact with Officers who served with my father before his EOW on Sept. 13, 1975. I was 3 months old when, instead of my dad returning home from his night shift, my mom heard a knock on the door. She was scared to open it, because she knew what she was about to be told. As she opened the door, she saw 2 Officers and before they could say a word, my mother fell in tears. This has to be the most difficult thing for fellow officers to have to deliver this kind of news.

I have always wanted to know everything possible about my father, and I am so happy and honored to say that I talked with one of my dads friends, who worked the district with him. He is Officer Dale Snyder, BPD, Ret. On our first conversation, I felt like I have known him all my life. Everything I asked, he answered without reservation. He told me to ask anything I want to know about how it was working, and being a friend of, my dad. After talking with Dale, I understand the brotherhood in Law Enforcement now. As a child, I wondered why my friends had fathers, and I did not. Wow, was I wrong. I had the best dad I could ever imagine. One I am so proud of. I am so happy to know he served with the best officers during his career.

Thanks you to all who wear the badge. We can never forget what a responsibility and oath they have taken. They are people who will risk their life without reservation, to save yours, and keep your family safe at night.
