Posted about 6 years ago As Officers, we encounter people making threats toward us or toward another officer. Most of the time these threats are just stupid people acting stupid. Has anyone encountered a serious threat on Law Enforcement? Not the "I'm going to have your badge." |

| Posted about 6 years ago Good grief! I hope the gangbanger's suit was thrown out! If I recall correctly, there was a death sometime within the last year, in which a bad guy followed a LEO's family member home from grocery shopping. She put in a call from her driveway, and help was sent, but I believe both she and an officer were killed. Never underestimate the viciousness of bad guys! |

| Posted about 6 years ago Be strong in the lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of god, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.

| Posted about 6 years ago ChaplainKeppy- Sorry to tell you but the city settled out of court and gave something like $150,000.00 to the bad guy. Gangbanger said that responding police kicked his ass. That and whats going on with a few off-duty cops being in the media and the media's dislike towards us is the reason that was given for settleing. |

| Posted about 6 years ago I arrested a turd one time for stealing beer from a supermarket. He had warrants for a couple of felonies and got sent to the "big" house for a few years. He told me that when he got out he was going to get his revenge. I hear stupid stuff all the time, but this one had me thinking that he was serious. Three years later, I was working as store security for a retail job. I was walking by the front door when who walks in? You guessed it. He took one look at me and I knew he remembered who I was. He walked over to me with a smile on his face. I thought I was a goner. He put his hand out to shake mine. I shook his hand with caution. He then pulled me to him and gave me a hug. I was just waiting for the shank to sink in. Turned out that he had found God while in lockup. He had changed his life and was working in the ministry. He told me that if I hadn't popped him for that stolen beer, he'd probably be dead by now. It could very easily have turned out very, very bad for me. I'm thankful that God was watching out for me on that one. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago I know it "comes with the job" but if someone starts threatening my kids and wife...I will probably lose my job. You can threaten me all you want, but if you bring my family into it, God help you. |

One of our departments Sgt's had killed this persons cousin in an officer involved shooting several years ago. | Posted almost 6 years ago I was threatened by a guy I was arresting for some minor violation. He gave me the 1000 mile stare and said he was going to kill me. It was one of those exchanges that when you walk away, you think, hey he has the proper mental makeup to actually try this... A few weeks later, I was on patrol and I noticed there was a car following me. I drove around the block a couple times to make sure, but there he was, still behind me. I called for backup and told them I was being followed. Turned out it was one of these "community activists" who wanted to see me violate someone's civil rights. It was just a weird experience, scary and it wasn't that fun for the "activist" either. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago I had been on the job for about 6 months, when "someone" put three rounds into my car, while it was parked in front of my house. Investigator said it was either a former inmate or an inmate's family member. It was suggested that I move. Not a very realistic suggestion. I eventually moved, and so far where I live now, I have had one door window broken out, and my car egged just last week. Needless to say I am driving beaters, until I get a house with a garage. Saves me getting to pi**ed off when something like that happens. Also I pay close attention to my surroundings at all times. Funny thing is, even when in civies, out in public, the bad guys can pick us out, same as we can identify them. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago About 4 years ago, family members to a skin-head advised he was coming after me. He was on Meth & selling in another county. I had arrested him for just about every thing. Robbery, Burglary, Fel. with a firearm, Meth, Weed and car jacking. I was working with a BATF Agent. We were putting together a Federal case on weapons & Drugs. This guy had put together an improvised .22 mag (rifle/pistol). While on the way to our area, it went off in the car. Struck him in the neck. He’s now a quad on a ventilator.

| Posted almost 6 years ago Those Aryan/Skinhead turds......... I've been threatened on the way to the jail and when we get there most decline to follow up on their threats when I tell them, "Now is your opportunity!" They're usually weak alone, but are dangerous by the numbers. I'll say it again, Watch your ass if you drive a take home car, otherwise they might be watching it for you. Be safe my brothers and sisters! |
