I used to carry a small S & W Revolver. I switched to a KelTec P-3AT for it's small size, portability and concealability. As for where I carried it, I'm gonna keep that to myself. No offense.

Anyone have an ankle holster? I just can't see the weapon being that secure.

Sorry I was giving directions...Yep it stays put... I have a unclemikes' sidekick ankle holster and I have never lost it in a foot chase! It is a perfect fit for my full size boots... Now if I'm taking it off duty It doesn't work well with shoes or in my dress boots for court

I carry a Glock 27 in an Uncle Mikes ankle holster. Have for many years and foot chases. It stays secure and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I train new cops and the one thing I tell them about ankle carry is that they need to get used to it, practice accessing it, and shoot the darn thing. I personally do not like vest carry for several reasons but like I said, its a personal preference thing. During the winter, I sometimes switch to a S&W 642 in a pocket holster since the snow and mud can get jammed in the barrel of an ankle gun.

Depending on my uniform of the day, I switch between a S&W 642 and a Glock 27. The Glock 22 is my department issue. I like the compatibility but the 27 is a bit chunky for my frame. Without sounding paranoid I fear not being able to get to my backup if I need it. As much as cops are in vehicles I would hate to be trapped behind the wheel where I can't reach my ankle. If you have ever had a serious injury to you upper torso you'll understand how hard it is to bend at the waist, ankle carry is out for me. My BUG in in my vest. Worst case scenario it's only a button or two away.
