Aren't you the same one who asked about the '12 year old with a gun?'

What is your fascination with armed, underage sociopaths?

OMG...this makes me so sad,,,,it is truly a head scratcher....when did we as society get to this point ?
We are the adults in this situation,,,why can't we find a way to let our children be children....
Simply that...if our society did its job of practicing birth control 1st and raising its children.
(as a result of not practicing # 1..)
That one little thing (that we are commissioned to do by our faith/ religion or by right of nature, would absolve so many of the problems we face...... why can't we figure out how to make parents be parents.....and let children be children.....let movies be movies...and real life be precious...........

To look into school shootings you have to look into alot of different things in society, home life and alot of other things. I work for a ISD police department and deal with these kids on a day to day basis. When we nail a kid with drugs or weapons and sometimes both at the same time you expect it out of them when we call the parents. In Texas everytime we take a juvenile into custody we have to notify the parents. After meeting and talking to the parents you see where the kids get it from. Most parents now days dont parent they expect the tv or society to be the parents for them. This all goes back to the New Mexico thing taking weapons away from their officers. The kids are armed and the officers are not (not a good idea). With the rise of gangs and drugs not to mention young party parents that dont raise their kids we can expect to see more and more children involved in violent crimes. BE SAFE OUT THERE BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

This is a problem EVERYWHERE today! I think everyone in LE today has thought about this exact scenario! We can recogize that the real issue is Parenting, but the problem is that anyone can become one, it doesn't cost anything (at first). The question as to what you would do if you faced a 13 year old with a gun who has just killed or injured 4-5 others is simple- You TAKE HIM OUT! Our goal is to GO HOME each night to our own families as well as protecting the others who are there. I don't want to think about what it would feel like afterwards!

Tn wants its own School Police Agency like the troopers, county, city, and the like.

My dept trains every month for this an active shooter on school grounds. We are trained to go to the bang and stop the bang. We are the only ISD dept we know of who train like this and also carry rifles and shotguns in our units and are working on getting safes in all campus offices. We do not wait for SWAT or special teams that takes to long we train, train and train some more.

We train in our dept for this as well....we would have to wait for a SWAT team from another agency since we don't have our own. I think the hardest part would be living with yourself if you waited and another child or teacher died.
