Is it harder mentally to come across a situation where a child is involved or a close friend?

I am not a LEO, but would say it is equally difficult. How's that for not choosing a side? Can't say. Seen the pain from both a child killed and a friend.

The cases involving children are always harder than cases involving adults. I have felt the pain from seeing a child die and losing a friend, both in car accidents. Both rip your heart out. I feel like children are defenseless, and it hurts more when they are victimized.

Kids are definitely the hardest.
