i've been retired for about a year now. no kidding, i keep having a recurring dream that i'm still in uniform, doing cop stuff. almost every night. pretty lame, huh?

Nah... It's not lame, you just haven't assimilated to retired life yet and miss doing cop stuff, so while you're sleeping your mind puts you on patrol. I've had a lot of retired guys tell me that they've had similar dreams... I'll be joining you in about 4 years, right now I have dreams about being retired sitting on a deserted Caribbean island with plenty of beer and women.

It's not lame at all! I've been retired as an officer for 10 years now. I went back as a civilian for 5. I've been retired again 3 years. I still have dreams of being an officer when I've talked to someone from the PD or read something in the paper. My body says I can't still be a cop but my mind and my heart haven't gotten the message yet. Sometimes when the phone rings my first impulse is to answer Hot Springs Police Dept.! That's lame!

I have been out now for 3 years and I do miss it alot and still act the same as I did. I still feel the same only with alot more time to do things.

TC, I NEVER SAID IT WAS A GOOD DREAM. MAYBE IF I WOULD HAVE APPLIED MYSELF AND STUDIED HARD AND GOTTEN ONE OF THEM NICE GOLD SHIELDS. BTW, CHUCKIE RETIRED A FEW DAYS AGO. NOT SURE IF YOU KNEW.
