Should police departments around the country enforce immigration laws? Some departments forbid their officers from doing so.

I think you should be able to ask if they are illegal aliens. They could be bringing something over the border that shouldn't be here and the only way we can get a little a head of them distributing the drugs or weapons or whatever is to see if they are illegal and search them for possible illegal substances.

Here in FL we can ask all we want because nothing happens if they are illegal. The only way things will happen is if they commit a felony or go on their own to be deported.

I am a firm believer that it is our duty to uphold and enforce illegal immigration laws. Illegal Immigration is just that "ILLEGAL"! So logic dictates we must do everything within our authority to detain and or arrest these offenders.

I agree about "don't get me started" but a little success story maybe........I guess the Highway Patrol got tired of me calling them to pick up illegals in our area but a new bridge is being built over the Mississippi River. About 2 months ago, I ran into a convoy of ICE, Homeland Security Bus's and they picked up around 79 illegals that were working on the bridge and the contractor that hired them.

I stopped a pick up one night a few years back and it had a camper shell on it . Got him because I was bored and he had a tail light out. It was about 3 am during the week. I always have the driver exit the vehicle and step to the rear. He did so and as I began to ask for his information (ID and etc.) I notice the truck slightly bouncing. I get a back up officer and I ask the driver if there is anyone else in the truck. He says in broken english. I quote," I No Speak English Well." Just so happens my back up officer did. So he asked. this guy gets a liittle shacky. I get him on the car and pat him down. I request additional units because the truck is shaking alot now. Turns out to be 12 illegals in the back. After about 2 hours getting info and informing Immigration. We are told to release them if no crime had been commited. only to gather info and pictures of possible. They were heading north on US Highway 67 70 miles south of st louis MO they informed the spanish officer that they were heading to chicago. Let Them go????? It turns out that there were not enough to fill a bus to deport.......................................

I keep reading how places in the mid west and such keep rounding up illegal immigrants. If we tried that in Florida I would never be able to write any tickets. Immigrant are every where.

I believe that if a city refuses to honor federal law then they should be cut off from federal funds.

We have had a higher number of illegals committing high profile crimes here. We now only take in illegals if they committed a indictable crime or DWI and call immigration. If we find an illegal committing a regular traffic offense of non-indictable crime, immigrations does not want to be called.

Just because a crime is federal in statute should not limit any other LAW ENFORCEMENT agency from acting on said law. Illegal immigration isn't just a federal problem. It effects states in a very real way. For any state or city to pretend that illegal immigrants are not bankrupting our social and healthcare systems is pure foolishness. We need to work together at every level to curb illegal immigration. It's not just an economic problem, but also a cultural problem. American culture is a mix of many cultures to make the great nation that we have. The problem with illegal immigration is that these illegals want US to conform to their culture.

THIS IS NOT MEXICO. You come here, you conform to us. *Learn ENGLISH.* That's the common language of the nation. No one says people have to give up their old cultures. Remember and celebrate them...as you conform to being an American. If you want to be an American, then come here *LEGALLY*.

There is a direct correlation between crime increases in areas that have high illegal immigrant populations. Why? Most illegal aliens will commit one crime or another. Three out of ten illegals has a DUI. One out of ten is a violent offender. One out of five has committed some form of thievery. These are statistics from my station. Arizona has approximately 250,000 illegal aliens sucking away at state programs: schools, welfare, healthcare, prisons, etc.

When will it end? *WE MUST ACT!* *Stand up as a nation and say NO MORE!*
