| Posted about 1 year ago Just kind of a heads up on this topic; anything to do with the name of the "Los Angeles Police Department" is (for the most part) protected by copyright laws. So, based upon the below info, it appears that our worthless union may now put down their coffee cups and "try" and do somehting about this. Also, the LAPD does not allow it's "Offical" web page to be "hyperlinked" to another web page unless permission was given by The LAPD. So, for those ouf you out in Cop Land, you may wanna chat with your local department leaders and consider this. This is the LAPPL's statement! Tuesday, March 11, 2008
The Los Angeles Police Protective League recently received numerous calls from members regarding the RateMyCop Website. The Website lists the names of all LAPD officers, as well as officers from other agencies. We have been informed by our attorneys that, unfortunately, the Website is legal and protected by the Freedom of Information Act. The League is currently exploring possible copyright violations. Once we have come to a final opinion on this issue, we will notify you via e-mail. |

| Posted about 1 year ago This whole thing is a joke to me.. The FOIA gives any whacko the ability to pull info on me, without my knowledge.. But people complain about the feds listening in on suspected terrorists phone calls.. Last time I checked, the feds have to pass background checks and Jack Sh*t doesn't.. But Jack Sh*t, who may have bad intentions, has unprecedented access to my info and its a good thing.. But the feds listening in on people, for the common good and safety, is bad.. Damn liberals.. I wonder where the ACLU falls on this as a personal privacy issue.. Oh, I know, it isn't to them, the police are involved, and we know where the ACLU falls on every police issue.. I want to find the driver(s) at the front of the traffic jam and have their license(s) revoked. Then make them ride the bus until they promise never to hold the rest of us up again. |

I don't envy your position out there. Here there is still some political backing for the police, but that left LA many years ago.. stay safe out there I want to find the driver(s) at the front of the traffic jam and have their license(s) revoked. | Posted about 1 year ago bigrobmc said: Yes, The LAPD has some real problems right now and there is no indication that they will go away anytime soon. Last night we had 2-OIS (officer involved shootings) 1 block from eachother. We killed one and wonunded one-but of course they were not gangmembers! They never all no matter how many tat's they have! I am getting out while the getting is good and once my pension is formalized I can talk more than I can now. Most places would be shocked at the level of "crap" that goes on here behind the scene. It has gotten so bad that once I retire we are moving out of the state of CAL all together and going to Texas. I may look for a job there as a LEO-but right now I need a break. I love the coppers to death in this city and proud to have been one of their numbers all these years. But our "leaders" are a joke and would sell their soul for that next promotion. Most people in other states have it correct in their beliefs of what "Californians" are all about. I was born in this state, but have seen it decline to a point where I want out. Chief Gates was the last "real" Chief we had at LAPD, the rest are "managers." Well, the anti-police groups have gotten what they wanted in this city. That's why I moved out of the city |

| Posted about 1 year ago Ok here is a thing that has started to take place-certainly in Los Angeles and those in LAPD. Coppers are logging in to this web site and "rating" LAPD command staff, our union people, and the supervisors! Man the stuff that is now showing up-I mean the dirt! Look up the police union pres, or some of the LAPD captains! Who needs "phone jackets" now with this web site! With a city as big as LAPD it is hard to get the 411 on bad apples (CAPT's, LT's and SGT's) well now you can-USE THIS SITE! Also, if you see a copper on your department who is getting slammed by some idiot-you can "back him/her up" and post something good about them-this webs site does not require any "proof" that a comment is correct. In one case I found a copper who was being slammed-so if you look at his name now, "he is a hero of saving this babies life!" GOD YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS SITE AND THOSE WHO DREAMED IT UP! |

| Posted about 1 year ago I checked this AM and the site is operational. It has a lot of information that has a potential for abuse. Be sure to send information about this site to your respective IT Intel Units for their information. | Posted about 1 year ago I went to the site and so far i cannot see anything like adresses or personal info only names. Not even badge numbers (ratemycop.com). What is the problem with this? Cant they ask you for your name and badge number when you are arresting/ticketing them? (Just curious) Broken By Faith Renewed By Sacrifice
