Having been a PC user since 1986, I switched to Apple. My first PC was 4 Mhz with no hard drive. I built my own computers over the years and became fluent in all versions of DOS. However, with each passing year, I became a slave to the whims and bugs built into Windows. I got tired of upgrading to new user-hostile operating environments and Vista was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. I chose the MacBook over the MacBook Pro because for the price, the MacBook seemed that it would serve my needs. I have not been happier. I upgraded to 2GB of RAM and the 200 GB hard drive. My order was shipped one day before the 2.0 Ghz CPU was upgraded to 2.16 along with an upgraded hard drive. I contacted Apple and they offered to send me the newer computer or refund $300.00. I chose the refund because I usually buy last year’s technology to save money. I have not been disappointed. No freeze-ups, no problems. The OS is very intuitive. No problem is using my old files with the Office for Mac software. I paid extra for the three year warranty because I am not a gentle person with computers. My next computer will be an iMac.

My mom's husband has this one in black. Works really well. I sometimes get lost because I am not used to Macs. Really high-tech. My little sister has a much smaller version from school. All around Macs are good.

It's one of the better computers out there, and I have found Mac OSX to be far superior to Windows. I, however, have a MacBook Pro.

Great bang for the buck, excellent machine. If you are wanting to get into OS X and be portable this is the way to go unless you need the bigger screen resolution / dedicated video card of the pro.

I was use to using PCs and PC laptops for years, the problem I had with them was keeping a the discs I needed for every piece of equipment I had to use with them. Once I switched to Mac I didn't need the discs anymore, the Mac hooks them up without addtional software, will never go back to a PC again.

Apple in my opinion is the best out there. I have a 24" IMAC and absolutely love everything it can do.

I added 4GB of Ram, but I am about to send mine back off again. I had it 4 months and the case started cracking out, 2 weeks later I got it back, new Hard Drive, Ram, and various items. When I got it back they didn't even have the OS installed correctly, I had to fix the OS myself. Glad I bought the 3 year warranty. I have now had it 10 months and the case is going again.
Mac is the best computer, but with Windows as a comparison it doesn't say much about Mac. If you are looking at buying on, either get a Windows computer and throw it away in a year or get a top end Mac.
