    1st review

The future of large frame rear-wheel drive sedans from Ford...which sounds like the future of police cruisers from Ford to me.

As Ford moves away from the 30-year legacy platform that the current Crown Victoria rides on, they bring to the floor the Interceptor Concept. This cars rides on a stretched Mustang Platform which will reported support several new vehicles including a new LIncoln Town Car. If this car hits the street looking alot like this concept, I think they will have a winner...Can't wait to see it painted in Holstein Cow w/LED overheads and GoRhino pushbars!

Looks sharp, I hope it makes it to the assembly line. We need some good police vehicles, this concept of going smaller is bad for those of us who are over 6 foot tall. Hope this baby is big enough to fit all the equipment, the cage and still leave room for an adult to drive comfortably!

That would be nice to make a good looking car that we could use. But as long as it is a Ford it will be JUNK!

It has the outside look of the Chrysler 300 from what I can see. While the Chrysler 300 is one hell of a car, (I drive a 2006 300 myself), and they are exceptionally powerful and handle well, I am not sure they would make the greatest police vehicle due to the size of the birdcage. The vehicle is more about styling than having large window space. In addition, I do not think they can put enough HP and handling into a vehicle that size that would compare to the German Mercedes engineering put into the Chrysler 300 or the Dodge Charger. If Ford wants to compete with the Charger they need to style it after say the five hundred body style and work on performance and handling. Right now, Charger has the market of the future.

The whole square-everything (includong the steering wheel) really bothers me.. Whats wrong with a car with no frills that just does what we want and need it to do? I dont care if it looks stylish, i dont care about rims or hubcaps(damn things always fly off anyways).. The center gearshift has to be moved to the steering colum.. Plain and simple, it doesn't seem pratical as laid out.. A few modifications, comparable power to a 'stang, maybe..

It looks nice and all, but if you want a real "muscle car" for this, you definitely want a Chevrolet, not Ford. Maybe even Dodge, but not Ford.

I believe this vehicle deserves this rating due to the fact that many kids/ adults can tell what an undercover cop car or cop car in general that has no sepcific identification telling them its a cop car in which gives this vehicle a great look and would not cross any teen or adult that this care is being used as a patrol vehicle allowing cops to catch any one off guard

Looks like Ford's version of the Charger hmm??
A little flashy for marked patrolwork as pictured here, but I think they could make it work. Ford as I understand it will only assure us that the Crown Vic. is around through 2010, so I'm guessing this will be the new Vic or some version of it to replace the current model. The big problem I see right off is the low roof line, and very small windows. We need to see. I dont want someone sneaking up on me, and I dont want to smack into someone at an intersection or while backing while trying to listen / talk on the radio, look for a house number, read a license plate, etc. Otherwise, I have a wait and see attitude on this one.

Looks great, but I'm afraid that Ford will only be looking at the bottom line again instead of some end user satisfaction for once. They've enjoyed too much of the market for too long. How about asking us what we need, ie: leg room, recline room, standard equipment, less time down for repairs, and hip/holster room for starters. I've never heard of Ford asking law enforcement once for our opinion.

LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE CHRYSLER 300: FORD,HERE'S A CONCEPT: BUILD A CRUISER / SEDAN ON A TRUCK FRAME, GIVE IT A BIGGER V8, POSSIBLY TURBO, MAKE IT ALL WHEEL DRIVE ( HELPS WITH SNOW, ICE, SAND AND GRASS ), MAKE THE GAUGE AND INSTRUMENT PANEL SMALLER TO ALLOW FOR MORE KNEE ROOM, AND PUT THE DAMN SEAT BELT CLIP OUTSIDE THE SEAT, AS OPPOSED TO IT BEING PART OF THE SEAT NOW. ANYONE WITH MORE THAN A 32 INCH WAIST HAS TO BUCKLE THE SEAT BELT BEHIND THEIR GUN IF THEY ARE RIGHT HANDED, WHICH MAKES FOR A TACTICAL DISADVANTAGE IN DRAWING WHILE SEATED. GIVE THE CRUISER 4 WHEEL HEAVY DUTY DISC BRAKES WITH COOLING VENTS AND HEAVIER CERAMIC PADS AND RECESS THE BACK SEAT A LITTLE BIT, ALLOWING FOR A LITTLE MORE ROOM TO MOVE THE FRONT SEATS BACK. THATS ABOUT IT.

This is a good car for an unmarked police car because it is sporty. there is a higher chance that a person will speed next to a sporty car. this would be a really good idea to use.

If Ford decides to go through with this as it is now it will take the government contracts for another thirty years at least.

I make it a habit to wait until I drive a vehicle for a week or so before I pass judgement. I thought the Impala would be great, but I wasn't. If it has pickup like the old LT1 Chevy I'm all for it. It' does look sharp though.

No doubt the provided photo is stylish. However, Ford doen't bother even PAINTING or TRIP IT OUT to look like a Police vehicle like Dodge did. I agree with member, 'ROBOCOP33' and other members that it looks like a Chrysler 300. Personally, I always prefered the prior body style to the current Chrysler 300 from a few years back. It was a lot more sporty. I don't think that immitating another manufacturers design is the direction they want to go. Ford needs to hire better designers and think differently. I don't think of quality when I think of Ford. It's difficult to tell from this one small photo, but due to the small windows, it appears to have little room for a birdcage, which they have to consider that some departments will prefer to install. The Charger leaves little room for that as well. I also agree with member, 'ALEXY' review. Ford needs to redirect their design that will benefit this country's police departments fleets as well as the individual consumer.

Remember, the only real patrol car is a Ford CV. Chevy hasn't been serious about patrol vehicle's since the LT1 Caprice. Dodge want's to compete with the Charger, but can they?
