| Description: | Very nice gun at a great price, I paid $529+tax. First, its very well marketed, you get alot for the price, nice carry case, 2 five round mags, Fobus style paddle holster and double mag pouch, pad lock, extra fiber optic for the front sight. Well crafted, well thought out to make a compact .45 this small. The grip is a bit short (much like a Glock 27) but a Pearce grip solves that issue. Feels good in the hand, excellent pointability and excellent sights. Sight acquisition is immediate. On first session at the range, I fed 100+ rounds of ball and hollowpoint ammo through it, the XDS had zero malfunctions. Good accuracy at 15 yards, and excellent accurate at 12 yards or less. Which I expected on a short 3.3 in. barreled .45 acp. Great trigger pull as well and is near exactly like the Glock safe-action system. Only negative I have is the trigger cut into my finger after the session and after the 100+ rounds, my hand was a bit red and sore from the deep checkering on the grip. Hogue Handall Jr. slip on rubber grips cured that and now the gun feels perfect. This is definitely not a range gun for shooting alot but it is a great gun for concealed carry. I carry it in an IWB holster and easily hides while wearing just shorts and a t-shirt. Thumbs up on this one! |

All-around great off-duty/back-up gun. Big caliber, reliable, accurate in a very small package. The only negative is the deep rigid checkering on the grip makes the gun a little uncomfortable to shoot, however Hogue or Pachmyer slip-on grips will cure that. And the actual trigger should be a little bit smoother. .
