My grand father has a knife like this, he got it while in Coast Guard. He used it for all different kinds of reasons.

I still have my 1968 issue Camillus model that I carried in my flight survival vest all through the army and my tour in VN. A little loose now around the cross guard, but it is still fully functional, and takes an edge like there's no tomorrow. I bought the Ontario to replace it, and have now retired my old friend to the knife cabinet. The Ontario is identical to my Camillus, and reminds me of it when it was first issued to me. A very nice knife, and a proven design.
