This is the finest firearm I have ever encountered...and right out of the box, too! I tend to look at the "big boys" and see what they have tested and settled on, and when I heard that LAPD SWAT, and the USMC-SOCOM unit "Det. 1", decided on a Kimber Custom II, that was enough for me, so I decided to check it out for myself, and boy was I pleased.

It is a little on the expensive-side, (I paid about $900 for mine new) but worth every penny. It has the most natural point I have found thus far, and the crisp single action is near perfect. The parts are machined so tight, that there is absolutely no rattle whatsoever, which I find to be a common issue with a lot of other 1911's, and I love the balance that this firearm has.

The only downside that I have been able to find is the factory magazine that comes with it. I have had some issues with the firearm jamming when I use this magazine--but that's been a quick fix. I started using "Wolf" and "Chip McCormick Power Mags", and haven't had a single malfunction since.

Kimber makes a great 1911!!!! I love the way this gun shoots. I found that the Kimber have very little recoil, and last forever.

I've owned one since 2004... I love it The external extractor is nice.. no fooling around with the tension on the internal ones and you can drop a round in the chamber and send the slide home and it wount break the extractor (like the internal ones). The loaded chamber indicator is a great feature.. just look at the notch cut out in the back off the barrel and if you see brass you know its ready to go.. no need to press check. When I bought this i was in California and the gunsmith/FFL holder I transfered it through told me that if i would have bought a colt and had half the stuff done to it that the kimber had on it stock i was looking at $1600... my only gripe is the finish. I left it in the box for one week and when i opened it I had some rust on the slide/frame and barrel. But I am convinced this is one of the finest 1911 ever made. Well worth the $900 dollar price tag!

After using an H&K USP for 13 years I switched to the Kimber TLE/RLII for both my street and SWAT sidearm. I love everything about the weapon save one point......it rusts at the drop of a hat. I have always believed that Rust = Neglect (I am religious about keeping a clean and oiled weapon) until I saw how rapidly rust forms on this weapon. My USP (with the H&K 'Hostile Environment Finish') NEVER rusted ANYWHERE duirng its service with me. Only a few months in service, after 1/2 a day working in a rain storm, I found rust on the slide, frame, barrel, and sights on my Kimber. Very distressing. Other than that flaw, I have found this to be one of the most accurate and reliable sidearms on the market.

I have two kimbers and I love them to death. Nothing feels better in your hand then a 1911, and even better if its a kimber 1911.

Out of the box, this firearm was accurate. Vary solid built and reliable. I added high texture grips and a magwell, which made this even better. The cost was worth it for me.

A good LEO bud of mine, who has 3-4 Kimbers turned me on to these. I love the hell out of it. I let a friend's wife try it once and she said "I don't like it, it shoots too easily" I could not believe that.
    Excellent sidearm!

This is what I carry. It is the best out of the box pistol I have ever had. Use caution when cleaning. The slide sping will cause the weapon to jam if placed in backwards. Make sure you know which way it came out so you can put it back the same direction. Wonderful pistol!!!!!

I had always wabted a Kimber Custom 2. I finally bought one a little over a year ago, and can honestly say it is thebest weapon Ive ever owned or fired. I am a licensed gun smith, and the quality of parts in these weapons are unbelieveable. The only downside is the backstrap and the grips... I replace my stock grips with a Hogue Rubber Grip and my groupings improved dramatically. Other wise, with the addition to Kimbers Trijicon Night Sites, My full size Kimber is an Every Day Concealed Carry!!

I either own or have owned just about every police sidearm you can imagine and this pistol shoots the best right out of the box of any that I've used in the past. I now carry this with the Crimson Trace laser grip and find it to be the perfect duty weapon.

I have shot many guns, and I have to say that this is my favorite one to shoot. I carried a glock 22 before I bought this one, and I love it. Even though the magazine holds less rounds you still feel just as safe due to the accuracy of the gun.

In regards to accuracy, reliability, function, style and ability to take abuse, all I have to say is HOLY CRAP! This gun blows all other 1911's that i've used (Springfield, Para Ordnance, Colt, Les Baer) out of the water! My 50 yd groups are consistently around 3-4 inches with decent quality ammunition in both JHP *AND* FMJ. If you want one, GET ONE! You won't be disappointed. Price for this gun is amazing too!

I've never shot a 1911 style pistol before, but now I'm thinking of carrying as a duty weapon. I got this one for Christmas and I have never shot such tight groups before. AWESOME

In this Marine's opinion, this has to be one of the greatest fighting pistols available. Its an absolute nail driver. I have mine equipped with XS big dot sights and a surefire weapons light. Add the wilson tactical beveled magwell and you have one great weapon system. My favorite thing would have to be the feel of it in your hands. You can just feel the sheer intimidation you have at your fingertips. Fire this 1911 and you will witness why a 1911 is such an iconic weapon. I say prayers everyday that our sheriff would let us carry 1911s as a duty weapon.

Carry this as my duty weapon everyday! That says it all. Trust my life to it!! Have owned many 1911 and other style weapons and Kimber has never failed to please. I have put my Kimber TLE/RL through extensive firing and have never had a malfunction that could be blamed on the weapon.

I have started to carry this on a daily basis, [mine is actually the Desert Warrior, yea the green one...] Grips took a bit to get used to. All of my other pistols have rubber on them-but oh well... This has become my flavor of the month, but I think we will have a LTR...

I have shot a lot of 1911's I'm retired out of the Army, But I shot 1911's a long time be for I was in the Army. Yes, I love the gun, but only after I sent my Kimber back to have it fixed for FTF,FTE, what a mess. but when the gun came back to me it took 600 more rounds before it rand good! this was 1200 rounds and a trip back to kimber. But I have a good gun now!

I was turned on to Kimber by one of our firearms instructors and man was he right! I love the 1911 and have fired Colts in the past but they did not compare to this gun. Mine is on order and should be availavle for pick up sometime next week. Can't wait!
