I have always had good results when utilizing my Remingon 870. It's use for simple crowd control is unmatched. When people hear the shotgun rack, they know you mean business. You don't get that with a patrol rifle.....

Very easy weapon to utilize with neat accessories. It's a good deterrent weapon. :)

First, to correct a clerical error: It is a 'Scattergun'. We use them less the light with slugs. Wonderful weapon and as accurate as the shooter. You might consider going low recoil slugs to build confidence in the new people or the old flinchers. One ounce of lead going downrange is intimidating. "There are no naturally occurring metallic sounds in the jungle". This weapon provides the univeral sound that everyone understands: Rack-rack! Stand back.....

My department just went to the 870 after years of using th Mossberg 500. I find the 870 superior in every way. It is more accurate, easier to handle, less recoil. Just a joy to shoot.

I use this shotgun while at the range. It can get the job done, but I like other shot guns out there.

By far the single best deterrent an Officer can carry. The simply sound of a round being racked has cleared many an alley for me while on patrol. While a pistol round is just as likely and frankly even more likely to cause death by gunfire, a suspect seems willing to sometimes take a chance. When you rack a round in the 870 they believe it is all over and immediately surrender helping to keep down the officer involved shootings. Always reliable and easy to clear any jam. A tough weapon that should always be within your reach. A five star rating the website will not allow me to rate this 5 stars, only 2, not right

A very good shotgun. My definate 1st choice for a shotgun.

The 870 is by far a simple, no nonsense, get the job done weapon. It's as versitile as the rounds you put in it or the accessaries you put on it. I have never had any major problems with the 870. It's a staple. I however have stepped down to the 870 express magnum in 20 gauge due to neck surgery. The 12 just plain puts a hurt on me now. I load with rifled slugs and have replaced the choke to allow the slugs with no problem. Only thing is, I'm hurting in the accessary department. The big brother (12) has all the fun and my little brother (20) just sits there and looks pretty. Oh well, love my 870, big or little, gets the job done. Stay Safe

This is my tried and true weapon of choice. My 870 is a retired Memphis Police Dept. gun that I have upgraded and retired about 98324873 more times. It is a great weapon just like the day it was built. Can't go wrong with the 870!

Good patrol officer's gun. I have found no other shotgun that in my opinon matches the quality and you know it has to be a humbeling experience for the bad guy to hear the sound of a chambering round.

Had this protector with me and felt safe and confident. Extremelly durable and reliable. Intimidating too. It's a little heavy, but nice shot.

My department uses these guns and I enjoy taking it out on patrol. Simple to use and very accurate. We have ghost ring sights and they are very easy, fast and accurate. We also have pistol grip stocks for added comfort. I highly recommend this shot gun.

We've carried the Remington 870 at the LAPD for years now, but they have just authorized us to purchase our own for onduty carry. I have this same weapon pictured, with one exception, I have the speedfeed 2 short stock. Great weapon, reliable and a great deterent! Good all around boom stick!

The 870 is the true work horse of LEO's and military. Its functional qualities make it easy to use, and reliable when needed.

Although there are nicer shotguns to fire, when you know you may need to use a shotgun to defend someone you love, or your life, you can't beat the 870. Remington has made a very reliable shotgun which I have complete confidence in while carrying it on duty.

I also love this shotgun I also carry this one in my police unit along with the Rifle that I carry this is the second extra gun I carry in my unit and I am very happy with this Remington and agian Remington did a great job

This is an outstanding weapon system. I have 2 of them. One is outfitted with a tac light and side saddle with sling. All black parkarized and the other is for hunting. both shoot well and the name is dependable.

the 870 and the 1100 are my favorite shotguns, you just can't beat a Remington shotgun.

I have my 870 outfitted with a surefire light and a 3 point tactical sling. I am about to add a side saddle ammo holder and magazine extender. I love my 870 and I have found that nothing in the world will make a crowd disperse better than the sound of racking a round. This weapon is dependable, easy to operate, and easy to clean.

I dont have this shotgun set up for tactical or police work I have it as a back up duck shooting machine but a 100% great shotgun.

A true workhorse. The 870 was my shotgun of choice before I purchased my Benelli M1. I have carried both raised bead & rifled sight models in 18 & 20 inch. Never had one with ghost rings but I think rings would be the preferred sight for a combat shotgun. I prefer the 18 inch gun for car carry...you will be surprised the difference 2 inches makes dragging it in and out of your cruiser.

Scattergun Technology has some excellent upgrades for the stock gun, and while they might seem pricey they aren' t much more than what it would cost to piece all the upgrades together. Even if you don't use the company, their product list could give you some neat ideas. That said a bone-stock 870 with a sling is something I would have full confidence in.

Only shotgun I'll even consider using.

After years of riding around with one next to me, it's an old friend, ready to go to Hell and back. I love my personal one, no frills and dependable in the worst conditions.

I really can't think of anything bad to say. I carry the 870 on duty and use one in personal shooting. Very versatile.

Outstanding shotgun! I have been using these weapons for 22 years in the United States Army, and now in my new career as a police officer. It is reliable, and can take a beating in all environments. It is also a very easy weapon to use and very easy to maintain.

I love my shotgun

R870 with barrel sawed down the 14.5 inches, sidesaddle, rifle sites, composite pistol grip shoulder stock and tactical sling and I'm in heaven. This a great all-purpose gun. Still my choice in the world of big scary guns that make a familiar noise when you rack it. Ghost rings are cool too! Never used one with a light built on.

I've been using and owning the 870 Police Magnum for almost 19 years and consider it to be one of the most durable shotguns on the market. It's very user friendly and easy on maintenance.

My department switched from an autoloader (Beretta 1200FP) to the 870 Marine Magnum 5 years ago. IMO, a step backwards. It gets the job done, but the auto could lay down some serious firepower. Ghost ring or rifle sights a must have- bead sight iffy at best.

The tried and true 870 remington pump action shotgun. My department has several in use with 18" barrels, speed feed stocks and mag extensions. Reliable with all types of ammo, including less than lethal. If it wasn't for the need to shoot low-recoil rounds that don't reliably cycle semi-autos, I'd rather go for a Benelli, but this is a great shotgun either way.

Best all around shotgun out of the box. I've had mine for years and absolutely love it. I consisently shoot better than the rest of the department on the shotgun course. The city issues winchester shotguns and they just don't do as well.

The Remington 870 is the standard by which all other police duty shotguns are judged. As long as the user keeps up their end the gun keeps going. Very versatile shotgun.

Great shotgun! I've added a ton of accessories, probably overkill for a home defense weapon, but it's fun to 'play' with out on the range. I have absolutely NO complaints about the 870!

This a great shotgun. I carried one in my patrol car before I became a motorman. Very light weight and accurate. I wish I could find a way to carry one on my bike.

i never used the remington till i came to this department. i mostly have dealt with mossbergs. i love the remington but i prefer the ergonomics of the mossberg (safety and A.L.L)

I carried very similar to the one pictured on patrol, and transitioned to a Benellli Semi auto while in K-9. Although the Benelli was a SMOOTH weapon, I missed the durability of the 870. The Benelli was finicky, especially when adding accessories (i.e sidesaddle). I now have another 870 which has performed flawlessly. I would not hesitate to use it in any life and death situation.

As many others will tell you when a Rem racks up..Its like E.F.Hutton...when it speaks,everybody listens.Now as a recently discharged U.S. Marine, I can say whith certainty that this workhorse can git'er done! I belive that the old addage is true in most repects."If it aint broke,dont fix it!" A definite patrol companion.Not bad for home defense either.

I have had this shotgun since 1997 and in 2001 we switched to Mossburg. We had problems with the Mossburg's and I went back with the old reliable 870. Great weapon and my personal choice for on duty and home defense...

Very simple, effective tool. I've used it on every felony stop. It has always been reliable and easy to shoot. Even though ours have been beat to shit, they still function well - great tool!

We use the 870 Law enforcement model for grizzly bear management and personal defense; carrying aversive rounds like bean bags and rubber slugs, as well as 1oz lead slugs for lethal backup, Overall a very reliable and easy to maintain firearm in my experience. If I trust it staring down a grizzly, I'd be just as confident to use it for defense against a person. Carrying it also gets respect and compliance when asking people to behave and keep their distance from bears.

A good firearm for the corrections/transport officer. I feel sorry for anyone in it's way.

I love this gun. As a Firearms Instructor for my Dept. I get to shoot it whenever. It sounds like a hillbilly love song. Music to my ears.

I own the 870 Express Magnum with a slug barrel, and it is definatly in my fave 5 for shotguns. I've never had any problems what so ever with this weapon. Easy breakdown for cleaning, and quick assembly.

I don't have the light or side saddle shell holder. My shell holder is on my sling. I've never gotten out of my car with the 12 guage and had the disturbance continue. Something about racking that pump that squashes a disturbance.

My baby is as plain as they get - no sling, no light...just au naturale. I hunted with the .20 ga version of this growng up (rifle barrell and open sights) so maybe I'm biased...but nothing else feels quite right. And besides, you rack one in - she still gets their attention - flair or no flair.

This is a tried and true workhorse of our arsenal. There nothing more intimiating than dark silence being broken by the noise of the 870's action.

This is our dept issued shotgun but I also own one myself. It is a very dependable and easy to handle shotgun.

A classic, and possibly the #1 choice in law enforcement. I have the basic Express model in the home defense configuration, black synthetic furniture and extended magazine, I've added a sling to it but it needs little else. Totally reliable, great home defense weapon.

Great weapon, definitely my first choice for a shotgun.

I give it five stars because it is an all around work horse. I've used my 870 for years and have had no problems and I don't think I will ever have any. It is an awesome gun! It may not have all the bells and whistles but if you want a good, accurate, and reliable gun the 870 is for you.

I have found it to be a very reliable shotgun. It is fairly versitile as far as add-ons, although mine is currently stock. I'd really like to get the Ghost Sights, though.

This is one of the best shotguns in the world. It is accurate and powerful, and holds just enough in the intimidation department so hopefully you won't have to use it.

I own two 870's one in twelve GA and the second in twenty GA. The twelve is for me and the twenty is for my lovely wife.

The 870 is the "ideal psychological weapon" as the "chink-chink" of a shell being loaded will cause even those on drugs to wet their pants and surrender rather than fight. In the off-chance you need to use the Remington 870, it will get the job done - and then some!

We finally went over the patrol rifles 2 yrs ago and I love them, but I find myself reaching for my Remington still. Thank god they decided to mount both of them in a our patrol units.

Every chance I get to take it to the range I do and like others have said here already, probably the most reliable shotgun out there.

In my experience I have used this shotgun for a duty shotgun. It has never given me problems and has been very reliable.

A must have. Our department only allows us to fire slugs so the recoil is a real bitch. But it's super accurate and reliable. When required to carry, I grab the Rem 870 over the Benelli.

This shotgun is still one of the best and most reliable weapons on the market. You just can't beat it's dependability.

I prefer the synthetic stock with the rubber pad on the end. Being female it really gets their attention when I step out and rack one in. Will send them scattering in the projects.

Remington 870s are a great shotgun and have been around for years. I grew up hunting with one. Very reliable and hold up to alot of abuse. Rifles have there place, but for the majority of the situations we face, give me a shotgun

Changed my stock to one that has a pistol grip and a R3 recoil pad. My accuracy with slugs increased dramatically. Old Reliable.

We used to carry shotguns along with the .223. We stopped carrying them when we went to the Colt M4, but I sure miss the shotgun, just for the pucker factor it gave when a round was racked. Beautiful sound, truly.

Have the 870 Express Mag. and I love it! No issues with it and still haven't met anyone that isn't scared of the sound when racking a round!

The first shotgun I owned was a Rem 870, purchased it while in England serving with the USAF. It's the only one I use and was glad to see when out department purchased it for use for out department. Nothing beats the sound of "racking" in a round when in a crowd.

I was given one for my 12th b-day or was it christmas? It's an '870 EXPRESS' with a wooden stock fore-end and a long hunting barrel with a aight rib and a bead on the end. I've heard nothing but good things of it. I've seen nothing but good things from it. I've killed many-a-animal with it. I've heard stories of men 'soiling' thier pants upon hearing the charging of the weapon's action (rack-a-round). Upgradeable, versatile, reliable, durable.........all-able. Best pump shotgun available. The 870 is to shotguns, what the .98 Mauser is to rifles.

You absolutely cannot beat a 12guage shotgun, particularly the Remington 870, for overall versatility, firepower, and intimidation in any high risk situation. I carry a 'tricked out' version as my primary weapon on SWAT entries (with an Eotech optical sight) and consistently shoot groups as good as or better than the sub-gun guys (using 1oz. slugs, a 14 in bbl, at 75 yards). Granted, I am limited by the amount of rounds I can send down range, but only one counts!

Old faithful. great gun.

I have the 870 Police model with the new R3 Butt Pad and I love it. It is very accurate and the recoil effect is minimal with the pad. I have attached a 3-way tactical sling to mine and keep it handy.

Excellent weapon!. My last issued shotgun was an Ithica. The 870 has less recoil which makes it more enjoyible to shoot.

Our dept. issues 14" 870's with Knoxx stocks. Anyway you configure it, it is an excellent weapon. I may be biased though cause I've been shooting them for thirty years.

Ole faithful!!! Have been using this for yrs and is still at true veteran. The action us flawless out side of the box and the simplicity of use is what makes it so easy to train new officers.

"Old Faithful" Wouldn't trade it for anything. Great for any occasion even close quarters. Mines broke in and I'll race anyones auto any day. Remington 870 is a prime example of "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

I sold my Mossberg 500 due to some problems in it's quaility. I quickly bought my 870 and set it up similar to the one pictured. I had it my patrol car until I changed departments and could no longer use a personally owned weapon. The safety is not left hand friendly, however it can be converted to be a left hand safety.

So easy to use and accurate that I bought one for myself. Modifications are simple and the gun can go through just about anything....my favorite weapon to shoot with, hands down.

Simply the finest sub-entry tool in the business. Great for LEO and home use. Modify same with door breech, ready sling, stock pad, extra ammo front mount and extra ammo stock band and you have yourself one bad-azz "rack" tool. The heck with slugs, enter a room firing off 5 straight buck rounds in a swing pattern and the room will be "clear".

Perfect all around shotgun. Reliable, efficient, decent capacity. Perfect for mounting in a patrol unit.

My department now issues this weapon, so of course the price is right. In a world where most officers are going to long rifles, AR's and such, the shotgun is kinda losing its momentum. However, I love the short barrel and now with shooting "less spread" shotgun rounds, its damn accurate, even at 50 yards. The 870 is dependable, i've never had a malfunction. Very durable, its been used in a butt-stroke situation a time or two. And still sounds cool as hell when exiting your car and racking a round for posterity.

On patrol, combat, home, or fighting demons in the pits of Hell, this is the one weapon I will not be without.

Hands down the toughest, most versitile, and easy to clean shotgun out there. I own the 870 Remington with smooth bore barrel as well as the rifled barrel. I can use this gun for all hunting and also personal protection. In terms of toughness, I dropped this thing in a shallow lake that we where duck hunting on, picked it up, dried it off, and continued hunting without any troubles given by the gun. Cleaning this gun is also extremely easy, but the fact is I know you can leave this gun alone without cleaning it for a good number of months and it will still fire and cycle like it was new. 5 out of 5 for this baby. Won't leave for hunting without it.

Four words: Would not trade it!

I recommend getting it with, or adding the knoxx specops stock. It does wonders.

Xant go wrong with the classic 870. Our department has three 870 sportsman models that date back to the sixties. They still work perfectly today. We have since added a few more 870 police models. I would not trade my 870 for any other shotgun. I have a couple buried in my gun safe.

Excellent Home Defender!

Mine is a 1994 vintage 870 SPS, to which I fitted a 20" Rem Choke bbl w/rifle sights (pre-dates ghost rings). I find I get excellent slug accuracy and reasonably tight buckshot patterns with the Imp Cyl tube. Slug hits on a 10-12" dia gong at 100 yards are easy from kneeling or standing, and out to 150 is easily doable from kneeling. Center mass hits at 50 yds are simple, as fast as you can line up the sights. Eff. range w/00 buck is abt 25 yds, although I am looking forward to trying the Federal w/Flite-control wad (rumor is 4" patterns at 15 yds!). I have a 4-rd sidesaddle as well as a 5-rd elastic stock cuff. I will be adding a Tac-Star WLS 2000 light shortly (I have one on my M-4). I went to an armorer's class last summer-- you then fully realize what a fantastic weapon it is, very robust and simple. I will give up my 870 when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.......

I have owned 4 models of the 870 12, 20, 28, 410 and none of these have ever failed, The police issue is no less. A dependable and reasonaby priced shotgun for the great quality you are getting.

The only problem with this weapon is really a problem with the modern patrol car - where do you put it? For this reason and this alone, my department may be switching to a folding stock model.

I am not a shotgun man, but the department issues us these, so I have a dust collector in my patrol car. They work and I have never had a problem with it.

The Remington 870 has provided years of unparalled service to so many departments throughout the country. The shotgun, in my opinion, is the most versatile and effective small arms weapon that can be deployed in virtually any type of situation. The reputation of this weapon is prevalent amongst not only law enforcement but also criminals. I can't tell you how many times the presence of a shotgun has diffused situations that had the potential to become life threatening.

Great shotgun with near unlimited accessories. I have mine set up with a surefire fore grip and a KZ single point sling with quick detach. The sling mounts between the receiver and butt stock and allows you to sling your weopon and go hands on or transition to your sidearm without setting your long gun down.

What's not to love about this beauty?

As my standard issued duty shotgun, I have carried this weapon for about 14 years now and have never had a problem with it. Beaten up when it was issued to me, and after some TLC, it continues to function and is a weapon that I know I can rely on if the junk hits the fan at close range.

Excellent weapon as far as shotguns go

Some people dont like the shotgun but I love my 870. It's the first tool that I grab from the trunk when I'm going into something hot and I am confident in it. I wish the dept would spring for surefire forearm lights but the mounts that we have mounted on them work pretty good. The shotgun is still a viable tool as far as I am concerned.

I use this gun at work, and for play off duty. Price is great and not refletive quality.

IT'S JUST A GOOD GUN....

I used this weapon both on duty while in the AF and I have a personal one for bird hunting. I can't say enough about how easy this weapon is to modify to do just about anything from hunting to breaching. I'll take an 870 over a Mossberg 500 anyday.

It serves it's purpose but is quickly becoming obsolete. I've never been a big fan of the 870 and it stays locked in the shotgun rack of my patrol car most of the time. It's a reliable weapon and has served it's purpose well over the years but it's not for me.

Mine is the express model. The police magnum is the same except for the barrel is shorter without the rib. Real versitile, there are many aftermarket accessories to do whatever you like with the gun. Very tough and reliable.

I have this shotgun with the collapsable stock. It's a great gun, but I still like my Mossberg better! Believe it or not. The Mossberg is lighter, but I haven't shot enough rounds through the Remmington, to make a true accurate decision as of yet.

Not only is this weapon absolutely 100% reliable, but nothing stops an old fashioned bar room brawl quite like the Cha Chunk sound of chambering a round in her... I simply love mine!

This is what my agency uses, they are all a bunch of beaters. Which I think speaks well for this gun because they all still work just fine. I have a personally owned one and love it.

US Customs (now ICE) uses this. Mu duty gun was a a 14" with no accessories (Customs firearms folks were a little weird at times). I aslo used it as a police officer. Great gun...impressive sound when you rack it.

Great all around shotgun for work and home!

This has been the "All-Terrain Vehicle" in my firearms garage - in fact, with a mix of 1 oz. slugs and .00 buck and equipped with a 3-pt tactical sling I find myself grabbing this instead of my rifle most of the time. It just does it all and never fails.

I have outfitted mine with the Surefire forend and a pistol grip Speed Feed Buttstock. It is a highly dependable weapon and I use it for home defense loaded wiith 4 low recoil birdshot and 4 slugs. It is a workhorse that I can depend on. I will be changing the stock out to a Knoxx SpecOps stock and adding a tactical sling. The Speed Feed is a very long stock that is difficult for my wife to use.

I also need to take a good tactical course for shotguns, any recommendations? I have completed POST Courses but I feel a quality course that significantly details the full potential of the weapon would be best.

Good old standby, however a M4 is better in todays times.

Always nice to have...whether using it as a "Get out of my house" gun or to augment patrol, its potential to stop the sh*t before it starts in fairly unmatched.

You can't go wrong with any scattergun, but the 870 has a long history. These are an excellent corrections weapon, but have run into some problem with our specific models on our Emergency Response Team. They are just too long for searching a building and have suggested shorter barrels, and the M-4 style stock for them and have run into the budget constraint wall.

We have used them for years on out department. Very reliable.

The most reliable shot gun I have ever owned. I routinely change the stock from full size to pistol grip. There is nothing which gets the attention of person like the sound of a round being chambered. Smooth action, firm handling and it is built to withstand the life of a Law Enforcement officer.

We use a Parkerized version with a 14" barrel and Trijicon night sights mounted on the barrel.. It is a great slug gun and with the 14" barrel, easy to move around while clearing a building. I can stack 5 rounds of slugs into an area the size of the palm of my hand at 50 yards. EAsy to train with, easy to clear malfunctions, and robust.

I keep reading about the sound of a shotgun's action making the bad guys tremble in fear. If you are showing up in the vicinity of a possible shooting situation with an empty shotgun, you should rethink your tactics. Put a round in the chamber BEFORE you need it!

Very accurate up to 50 yards with rifled slugs. Looks awesome and shoots like it looks.

I call mine “Mother-in-Law”. She barks loud and usually only once.

This is one of the finest products for use during riot control and for patrol purposes, (i.e.; building searches, and during crowd control); it is one of my favorites to use for an all purpose weapon on the streets when on duty. Excellent back up weapon. I wouldn't leave home to patrol the streets without it. It is an accurate weapon and used most in police departments that are county wide, such as Deputy Sheriff, etc.

If I had to have one weapon from my issued gear, this would be it.

Bought my first one, a 3" 870 Express, for grouse hunting in Alaska and have used it in many pheasant and dove hunts since then. I qualfied well with it on our dept since it is our cruiser-mounted shotgun.

Our department issued shotguns have all been converted to less lethal only, but it is still a great tool.

The workhorse of LE shotguns. I have 2 that are early-model Wingmasters (both pre-'65) and they have never failed to function for anything, regardless of what they were fed! Kinda like the Energizer Bunny-they keep going and going and going and.....

This is the gun that I will always grab when it comes to bird season...

Plain jane 870 Police Magnum with a bead sight and 6 shot sidesaddle... Ghost rings are nice, but I'll stand on the line with anyone with just the bead...

All round good gun can't imagine going out with out it.

Economical, reliable, accurate, and fun to shoot!

In a lot of ways this is an excellent gun, but it's too short making hand placement uncomfortable and aim suffer. The '14 in barrel was trying to hard to make this a CQC weapon. I prefer the '18 in full size MCS.

Without a doubt, an oustanding shotgun. Reliable, easy to handle, it fits well in a rack between the cruiser seats beside the Remington Patrol Rifle. Recently finished range qualifications using the new Federal round which holds a much tighter group than comperable ammunition.

Had a moss 500 it sucked this gun is far better.

I loved my Remington!! It was VERY stable and VERY accurate. It had Ghostring sights and all. We replaced the 870 with the Mossberg 500.

Probably the most accurate shotgun I have ever shot. It is great and reliable. I would take it any where with great confidence in its ability.

Very good shotgun but i'm still partial to Mossberg. Not a big fan of the safety and forend release location on the 870. If you want a sidesaddle carrier and have the 7 1/4 factory forend, you either have to grind down the forend a little or settle for a 4 round sidesaddle carrier. As far as durability and reliability, it's right up there with Mossberg.

By far the best and most versatile shotgun on the market weather you are looking for a bird gun or a home defense or a tactical shot gun the Remington 870 is the one to go with. There are so many options and configurations with this gun that you do not know where to start and the price is not bad either. I have shot a Remington 870 many times and I fall in love with it every time I shoot it. Smooth action straight shooting and low recoil

Remington 870 Police Magnum 12 ga. Rack the slide and watch them cower. Nothing says I mean business like the sound of chambering a 12 ga.
I love mine and sometimes elect to pull it out rather than my AR

How do I spell instant domination?? Remington 870 I don't have a tactical light yet, but, it's a planned purchase. Nothing like having a small cannon with you when back up is 20 - 30 minutes away.

I've owned this bad boy since 1981. A heavy military/police version with extended tube, parkerized finish and oil rubbed stock. This weapon is AWESOME to say the least. In all these years I've owned it, I have never had a problem with it and always scoring perfect scores during quals at the range. Too bad you can't find that version around today!

Love this weapon, would rather use this and a slug any day over my M4

I bought one with rifle sights and had it ported and put a modified choke in it. Works great and I don't patrol without it. Best shotgun I have ever owned.

DRESS IT UP OR KEEP IT BASIC YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THIS SHOTGUN. ALL THE EXTRAS ARE NICE. THE BASIC MODEL IS IN EXPENSIVE AND WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I USE THIS AS MY LESS LETHAL SHOTGUN (PAINTED ORANGE STOCK AND FOREARM).

I love this shotgun. I love the ghost ring sights. I also have to say just the shear sound of the shotgun being racked is unmistakable. Gets attention fast.

Great product. Knoxx recoil reducing stock takes it from great to OUTSTANDING. A must addition to this gun. Ability to hold on tatget at rapid fire is unbelievable.

Had mine since I was 16, My wingmaster has gathered game, killed feral dogs and ran off folks snooping around at night, It is a standard 2-3/4 shell length and I have had no problems with it now in its 27 years of service to me.

I have used the 870 for many years, in the military and in law enforcement and it has always performed and held up to various weather conditions. I use it alot on entries and would not have anything else.

Great weapon! The ghost ring sights and synthetic stock are excellent additions. You can add a 6-shell side saddle on one side and a 4-shell on the other.

I have carried this weapon since 1983. I now have a pistol grip stock and side saddle and love it...

I have the Rem 870 normal shotgun with 26" barrel. But, I believe that the worst sound an intruder will ever hear is the shucking sound of a shell of 00 Buck being chambered. This gun is simple, easy, low maintenance, shoots great for hunting and home defense. I have a 13 yo boy that began shooting number 8's in this at age 10. I would only go with a 12 GG. I have always been a big fan of this weapon. I have had mine for years starting out as one of my hunting guns and now converting it into a duty weapon. Very accurate I placed 4 slugs in a 3" group with only a bead front site during a 30 yard qualification shoot after not shooting this weapon for about 2 years.

Great Law Enforcement shotgun. Very adaptable and easy to use. Weapon is great for those who've never handled a rifle before and makes training much easier. This is the shotgun of choice for the USBP.

I have one and will never part with it! i also have a FN TLE shotgun, but my old time favorite is the 870. Lot of different options and just a plain old good shotgun!

I have used a Remington 870 since I was in the Marnie Corps on Embassy Duty. Since then I have purchased one to protect the homestead and have always had one in my patrol car. I have never had any problems with one.

My agency issues the Mossberg 590, and it's a good gun, however At home the 870 is my go to gun when I hear a bump in the night.

Simply put, I want one for Christmas!

we use the 870 MCS at my department. it's nice to have the rail system for lights, lasers, etc. pretty dead on shot pattern and it comes with different chokes for different uses. we used to have mossburg 500's but i prefer the remington.

we issue this weapon to all offices. They have just been upfitted with Blackhawk adjustable stocks...WHAT A COMBINATION!!!
