Emerson has a great reputation for excellent tactical knives which have been proven in combat under the harshest conditions. Emerson patented an innovative quick-deployment feature called the "Wave" which allows the blade to be deployed in conjunction with the draw (very useful for eliminating fine motor skill dependency under stress). The knives are pricey, but you get what you pay for. After reading up, I was impressed with the extensive testimonials describing their performance, consistency and durability. This model is the largest of the CQC-8 series, but large is good. Very smooth action and it fits the hand in a variety of positions quite comfortably. Available in black or stonewashed satin and plain or serrated edges. Non-ambidextrous (pocket clip mounts for right-handed use only).
