I bought this weapon 7 years ago as a backup for my duty weapon at the time, a Sig P220 also in .45ACP. I had not been a 1911 fan, but this weapon changed my mind instantly. It is accurate right out of the box. It has performed flawlessly through thousands of rounds. In fact, the only modifications I've found useful were a slight sight adjustment and the addition of Hogue finger molded rubber grips. This weapon is a nail driver. Since purchasing this weapon I can see why the 1911, and Kimber specifically, has such a devoted following. When it comes down to a firefight, I'll use my backup before my replacement polymer junk duty weapon.
