Springfield Armory is the best 1911 manufacturer for price out there. There is a reason why the mil spec is the base model for the top 1911 gun smiths in the country. I actully own a Full sized loaded model.

When I started at my agency many years ago, Springfield was strapped on my side. Hugely reliable....cocked and locked. A few items I added to make it just perfect: Armorloy and an extended safety via Gunsite.

For true OPERATORS, this is generally considered to be the single best defensive handgun design on the planet. Springfields rendition is among the best of the 1911 pattern weapons. Also try Kimber and S&W if your shopping for this type of weapon. This particular model ROCKS!

By far the smoothest, most accurate pistol I have ever used, has everything you would want in a tactical weapon.

I have always been a 1911 fan. This weapon is superb.Iuse this gun on duty with night sights and a surefire X200 tac light ,and it's shooting and accurracy are second to none. The only comparrable gun to it is the wilson combat series.

Great gun, I couldn't stand the burner grips, though. After trading them out for some Hogue one-piece grips this was (and will forever be) my favorite gun.

I just wish that $1200 price tag was on it when I bought it...I paid over $2000 for it when it first came out.

    lol

I'm a huge fan of Springfield Armory 1911's. I own several. The operator model is one of my favorites. Very accurate with the right shooter and a very quick weapon.

The TRP Operator is my favorite handgun in my personal kit bag. It was the one handgun that had everything I wanted in a 1911 straight from the factory. The 4 and a half pound trigger pull is outstanding. the front and rear grip knearling is deep and sticks to your hand almost to the point where you have to wear gloves. The oversized mag well makes for easy mag changes without looking. The rear adjustable sight makes good for duty carry or the competition match. The standard 1913 rail is great for any compatible light/laser system. My only con for this weapon is the weight, shave a few grams off and it would score 100%

This si one of the finest pistols I have ever shot. I own several Colts and place this one at the top of the list. A bit pricy but as a functional duty weapon hard to beat. Very accurate, well built, great millwork. My hat goes off to the folks at Springfiled. I highly recomend this to anyone who is a 1911 fan and to any officer that appreciates fine craftsmanship.

Reliable, rugged and accurate in the extreme. I got an awesome deal on a (hardly) used one. It was a little heavy for off duty carry (i.e. had to keep pu;;ing my pants up) so I just bought the "Ltwt Champion Operator. It is awesome and my new constant companion.

This is the best gone that I have ever owned. Since I can't carry it on duty this is what I carry when ever I am off duty. Awesome handling gun.

I've had mine for 4 years now. I had a 3 1/4 # trigger job done. I have mine mated with a Surefire X200. When shooting falling plates from 15 yards I can hit them quick enough that the last one is hit while the others are still falling. A must for this gun is the Hogue Grip with finger grooves. It really helps with control and feels awesome!
