Fired over 1000 rounds without a single jam. Built on a 870 frame, pump action, will hold any type AR15 mag.

My department has been training patrol officers in this gun as a second long gun alternative to the M-4. I was trained and authorized to carry it a little over 2 years ago. What I can say is it is very accurate and easy to use. Since it is based on much the same platform as an 870 shotgun, the amount of training time involved is much less. It certainly increases the capable range of engagement over say a slug from a smooth bore barrel. It shoots the same .223 ammo an AR style rifle does so ballistically it is very much the same. The biggest negative is the fact that it is manually operated. Going up against a subject armed with an AR or AK style gun that is semi-automatic will be a challenge. Also, this gun is not very common and thus the number of accessories for it is limited. Shooting from a prone position is also a challenge as you are in a very awkward position when trying to work the action from that position. My department is strongly looking into optics for this gun which would make it much for efficient. Personally, I would like to see it chambered in .308. The larger caliber bullet would be a great asset when going up against subjects in body armor and for longer distance shots.
